Questions & Answers

Is there a video function on this camera? Will it record video for an extended period of time if someone remains in the area? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ?

The Stealth Cam Fusion is a product I do not recommend. I've been in my stand and watched deer walk very close to it on several occasions, but I haven't been able to photograph them. No, it doesn't support video!

Is it possible to use this camera without a cell phone plan?

Yes, it can take pictures even if you don't have a cellular plan. To view the pictures, you must first remove the Memory Card and insert it into another device. I hope this information is useful.

Is it a satellite connection or is it a wireless connection?

The cameras are cellular, which means they rely on cell towers; we use Verizon service, and they work in almost every location. When there is no cell service, they can also be powered by an SD card.

What is the price of the Verizon plan?

Individual cameras cost $20 per month and allow you to take unlimited photos. A cost chart for various configurations can be found on the Stealthcam Command website.

All of your photos are accessible to Stealthcam
4/5

Updated: 11/5/20 - The app is becoming more stable, and I'm getting pictures most of the time when I know there's been traffic. The most recent software update improves the quality of OTA images sent to your mobile app. Increasing the number of stars from 3 to 4. They still have access to all of your photos, as far as I know. /br>br>I have three of these now, and they've all been hit or miss. One of the cameras wasn't triggering, so I contacted support. Even though I was 5 feet in front of the camera, it never took a picture. There are new batteries in the camera, as well as an external battery. "You had to reposition the camera," the support person explained. I was 5 feet in front of it, just to be clear. If it can't detect me when I'm standing, walking, or dancing, I'm out. There's a bigger problem 10 feet ahead of it. br>br>It was discovered during this call that the support person was looking through the pictures from the other camera. That is extremely alarming. br>br>Another issue I was having was solved by "taking the batteries out for 24 hours," according to a support solution. So I returned to the camera site, removed the batteries, and replaced them the following day. It had the desired effect. Before taking them to the field, make sure you run them for a week at home. br>br>The support phone number frequently leads to an overflowing voicemail box. br>br>I only have one working camera. They are, on average, slower to trigger than my other camera brands. br>br>You can't change the quality of the picture that's sent to your phone. It has a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels. To obtain high-definition images, you must physically retrieve the memory card. By default, the unlimited data service costs $20 per month, but you can only send grainy photos. There is also no video. I'm not bothered if the video isn't available. That was obvious from the beginning. br>br>Before the trial period ends, you'll probably want to downgrade your data plan to $5 per month for 650 images. You can only burst three of the 26MP images if you want them. The lower the resolution, the more photos can be taken at the same time. br>br>I'll start by saying that setting up the camera was incredibly simple. They use a QR code in the app to complete the process, and that's it. Micro SD cards in an SD adaptor presented a problem for me. This didn't work for a number of different brands. br>br>I'm hoping for a software roadmap that allows for higher resolution images to be sent as well as a way to shorten the trigger time. br>br>Side note: I ordered one from Amazon solely to leave a review for my other two, which I purchased directly from Amazon and one from Sportsman's Warehouse. Last week, I intended to write a review, but I was unable to do so due to a lack of time. For the time being, verified purchases are not permitted for this item. I'm guessing they've had some quality issues and don't want it broadcast, but $150 to give you all a heads up is well worth it.

Remove yourself from this situation! What they don't tell you is that the quality of the uploads to your phone is poor
3/5

Yes, it has a high megapixel count, but so do all the other cameras on the market. The uploads to your phone inform you that there has been activity, but that's all there is to it. They're of such poor quality that it's impossible to tell how many points a deer has. You can get the high-quality picks if you take your card out of the camera, but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of a cellular camera? Furthermore, their customer service is appalling. Get out of here. Please accept my apologies for not having done so.

Purchases should be avoided
3/5

Please don't make a purchase! I purchased three of them. Two of them had to be returned after a software update caused them to malfunction. Now none of them are working, and the app has gone down for the third time. Billing has also been a disaster. I changed the service plans on all three cameras to the minimum $5/month plan, but I'm still being billed for the maximum $20/month; Keep in mind that they weren't even working at the time. It is impossible to provide excellent customer service. No one picks up the phone or responds to emails, so the situation is non-existent. Purchase is not recommended.

Finally, I've discovered a camera that appears to perform as expected
5/5

This is the fourth camera I've ever owned. This is the first time I've used a cell phone. Some of the products were well-known. Some of the items were counterfeits. Everything about them was odd. None of them, with the exception of one, lasted more than a few months in good working order. br>However, these Stealth Cam ones appear to be simple to use, and all three (I was so pleased with the first that I ordered two more) are still working perfectly after months of use. br>I feel compelled to say something. I adore being able to send photos to my phone. I spent more time on Facebook than I did looking at game and trespassers! As a sort of low-cost real-time security system, I have a couple of them watching over my hunting camp. Another is in my back yard, watching the critters in the woods. br>Each camera sends me a single photo once a day with the message "I'm still working. " It's also suitable for both day and night use. People have complained that the photos sent to your phone aren't in high definition. That isn't the case. You can, however, delete photos from your phone remotely and save the ones you want to keep for later. Prevents your camera cards from filling up with thousands of photos of leaves flapping in the breeze. Then, in order to get the HD photos, you must first download the card. br>For $20 a month, I have unlimited photos on three cameras. Last week, I spent that much money at McDonalds. br>These were well worth the money for me, and I am very pleased with them.

I can't sleep at night because it keeps me awake! The camera is fantastic
5/5

Thankfully, it has options for sending photos only once a day or in 1-hour blocks. I'm not sure what the problem is for others. It was simple to set up the camera, and it has performed admirably thus far. Even though the cell service in NW Wisconsin isn't the best, it still works.

Junk
3/5

This thing is a shambles. It has poor reception, and I updated the camera right in the middle of hunting season. I was under the impression that it would take 30 seconds based on the app. For the second day in a row, my camera has been inoperable. Purchase is not recommended.

I bought two cameras for Christmas gifts from Amazon and two more from a local retailer with the worst customer service I've ever encountered
3/5

They put in a month's worth of effort. Due to a glitch in their system, Stealth Cam was unable to process my payment. The payment was processed after three emails went unanswered and an 85-minute phone call. After that, the cameras stopped working. After a 45-minute phone call, I brought one out of the woods and contacted support to troubleshoot. They want me to repeat the process with the other three cameras that are having the same problem before filing a warranty claim, which is a separate procedure. For a product that doesn't work, the customer service is brutal. BUYING IS A MISTAKE.

Stealthcam from Verizon
3/5

I've got an AT. Along with the Verizon, there's a T Stealthcam. I didn't realize you had to buy a camera that was specific to the carrier, or I would have purchased an AT. When you set up the camera, I thought you got to choose which carrier you wanted to use. Not so! In any case, the Verizon camera isn't as sensitive as the AT&T one. I have them pointing in the same direction, at the same distance, but at different angles, and the AT is pointing at them. T will add a third more pictures of the same activity to the mix. Not once in a while, but every session, and they're both set up the same way. I'm not sure why this happens; all I know is that it does.
