This was the first trail camera, and it cost around $300, plus data fees and a solar charger. I purchased this lockbox to prevent it from being stolen. If you use this lockbox with the extra battery pack on the camera, you won't be able to weave a cable through the box and around the tree. There are several holes in the tree where thick screws can be used to secure it. It's a very thin metal. I had to ease up on the pressure when screwing it to the tree because it warped the box. If you're using the extra battery pack, a padlock can be used to secure it. Someone could break this box with pliers or a hammer, but they'd also break the camera.
This lock box was purchased with the intention of securing it to a tree with a python-style cinch lock. Although there is a perfect location for this style of lock and it fits nicely without the game camera, it will not fit once the game camera is installed in the box. Any type of python-style cinch lock would be far too big for the game camera. I'm not sure what kind of lock you can use with this box, but I was disappointed because I bought it to go with my Creative XP camera and thought it would be a great match.
This camera security box is exactly what I needed for my application, and it far surpassed my expectations. br>br>1) Metal construction with a heavy gauge. 2) For added security, an interlocking face plate has been added. br>3) There's a lot of prep work ahead of time. Mounting holes have been drilled into the surface. br>4) Capable of using a padlock to secure the faceplate. br>5) Fits my camera like a glove, without interfering with its functions, i. e. br>br>Very satisfied - display, motion detection, etc. br>br> I would strongly suggest it.
It can't be secured to a tree in any way.
It tries to prevent a thief from stealing your camera as quickly as possible. Much better than simply securing them to a fixed object.
Heavy-duty construction. Nicely put together. It's a perfect fit for the winghome 350.
I've used a lot of mount boxes, and this one is by far the easiest. It was a breeze to install the camera within this box. I used a padlock to secure it to a tree. This camera is pointing in the wrong direction.
