In the reel I received last month, aluminum core with copper cladding is used in place of steel. Initially I did a scrape test, then we did a resistance ohm test. I wouldn't recommend you buy it. This is not real copper, stay away if you are connecting long runs of wires

It says it is a braided copper cable, but it is had hoped to do 200 foot runs but I cannot because CCA only drops that distance to about half and 200 is right on the edge as it Because of the RGS-59's CCA core and the sheer sheathing on the cable, it is also easy to damage when stripping the cable. Because of the hard plastic sheathing, CCA power cables sometimes break when splicing. While I would have gladly paid $20 for real copper, the reviews claimed it was copper, but it was just a way to get people onto real copper for a short time and then switch to CCA.

Five makes good cable so I don't understand why they would make this cheap cable and get a bad reputation by using copper clad aluminum over time. I wish they would make it more prominent and advertise, but of course they will hide it to get people to buy this.

I can easily keep track of the wire length, with written information on it, which is a huge help, and the wire is very durable and perfect for running replacement.

I had no problems with the wire on my long distance security I had an only minor problem, which was the wooden spool was broken on one end, which made unwinding difficult

Hard to find local wire at such a low price. Over 300 feet of runs have been made. It has a great camera picture and is also powerful enough to run the night illumination on the cameras.
