Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
- Real 18AWG vs. Common 22AWG: Real 18AWG pigtails have a larger wire gauge than other 22AWG pigtails, with 43 pcs 0. Total 86 pcs 0, 14 mm 100% copper strands inside one cable. Inside the two Red / Black cables are 14 mm copper strands. This makes a difference when using larger power supplies and allows them to be used for higher current devices; with real 18AWG, they should be good to 5A or even a little more.
- 43 x 0.25 inches of heavy-duty quality 14 mm 100% copper strands ensure a reliable and secure connection as well as rapid transmission. Working with a power adapter or a power supply box, the 18AWG DC Power Pigtail Cable provides a more secure DIY solution for DC power connectivity.
- Simple to weld and install because the DC power pigtail cables' ends are pre-tinned, making soldering a breeze. The other Red Black wire jackets have two wires on them that indicate polarity. They're also quite long, with a total length of 11" and a width of 9". 5 inches of wire
- Simple DC Power solution, which is compatible with all CCTV systems as well as other 2. 1*5. Devices that require 5mm DC power, such as part lighting or LED strips. This 18AWG DC Power Pigtail is extremely versatile and provides a very stable DC power connection.
-10 x Red/Black Male Pigtails DC Power Connectors, 10 x Red/Black Female Pigtails DC Power Connectors, worry-free 12-month guarantee, and friendly customer service

Questions & Answers

What is the abbreviation for the word "awg"? Many recent prod reviews have labeled the specifications as outright lies. 1 star reviews indicate that the wire is at most 22 gauge. ?

I just got these after deciding not to buy others that are "only" 22 gauge and have the words "2 x 0" printed on them. The gauge is 22 gauge and the thickness is 6 mm. Some are thicker than others, possibly due to a lack of quality control, but mine are 22 gauge.

Is this a good or bad tip? i.e. Red to the foreground, Blue to the background. From barrel to black. ?

It's really only important that you try to remember and understand how the socket is wired up on a regular basis. So, what's the deal here? Define the elements. A tip and a shaft can be found on the male end, while a center and a barrel can be found on the female end. If you wire your device with the red lead on positive and the black lead on negative, regardless of whether the leads are male or female, the center or tip will be positive, while the shaft or barrel will be negative. If you want the opposite effect, connect the black wire to the positive lead on your circuit and the red wire to the negative, making the socket Center negative rather than Center positive.

Would these be able to handle 1 amp at 48 volts? How about 2 amps? 50 - The power is 100 watts. ?

I wouldn't go higher than 5A, so I'd say 1 to 4A is safe. Keep in mind that working at a higher voltage necessitates using less amperage to accomplish the same amount of work. So, assuming the device could support a wide voltage range, what would be roughly 1A at 48V would most likely be 4A at 12V. The only issue I have with the jack connectors is that they have a tendency to make poor contact, which increases resistance; I had to gently bend the pin to make contact with most of my items. I'm using 5Ah batteries and a 5A fuse, so I figured 18 gauge would be about 5A ampacity.

What would happen if you ran the number 19? Is it possible to get 5 volts through these connectors? Is it going to hold up?

The amperage, not the voltage, is the more important factor. I'm assuming you're wiring a solar array assembly or installation, so 5 volts should suffice. Any circuit to which these would be connected should have a maximum current of 10 amps. Divide your watts by your voltage to get amperage.

Selected User Reviews For (Real 18AWG 43x2pcs Copper Strands) 10 Pairs DC Power Pigtail Cable Wire, 12V 5A Male & Female Connectors for CCTV Security Camera and Lighting Power Adapter by MILAPEAK (2.1mm x 5.5mm, Ultra Thick)

19 AWG wire was used in the measurement
5/5

(Photo courtesy of the wire: The first picture shows a MicroOhm meter (which tests small resistance values under a 100ma load) testing a length of these wires, which I compared to others that are credibly sized. The second picture shows a MicroOhm meter (which tests small resistance values under a 100ma load) testing a length of these wires, which I compared to others that are credibly sized. )br>br>Using the MicroOhm meter, these wires come out to be 19 AWG, which is pretty close to the claimed size. It was printed on by one of their wires. So I'm using RapidTables to calculate 6 mm2. It showed 19 AWG on the com calculator as well. br>Over the 21" connected length, the Red and Black (Center and Outside of Connector) each measured 33 MicroOhm, indicating that there was not much loss through the connector, as the wires likely contributed the majority of the loss. I was able to rotate the connectors without affecting the connection. Found a 3% voltage drop through the red wire side of the assembled pair and roughly the same through the black side (21" long total) at 5. 02A load. br>br>I should point out that during the 5A load test, the connector itself warmed up to the point of being Luke warm (whoever Luke is). br>br>So, after trying several of these in the past, including some that "claimed" 18 awg, this appears to be pretty much as advertised, at least so far, and I must admit I was skeptical at first after testing several others with exaggerated claims.

The actual wire size is much smaller than what was advertised - Be careful who you buy from
3/5

Despite the fact that the wire is labeled as "Real 18AWG," actual measurements and information from the Milapeak website show that it is not. com (each wire is made up of 43 strands of 0. The DC current carrying area of 12 mm diameter copper is 0. 486 sq. mm. The proper 18 American Wire Gauge has a thickness of 0. 80 to 0. 96 sq. mm. stranding affects the size of the area. Because the actual wire is smaller than standard 20 AWG wire, the buyer should use these connectors for applications that require it.

The stated amperage is simply impossible to achieve with wire and connectors
3/5

I'm not going to get into the "real 18 gauge" debate, but I will give an example from the real world. I connected one to 18 volts using a 1. Before wiring a bunch into my setup, I used a 5 amp current draw to test it (27 watts). The cable run was 3 feet long, with true 16 gauge wire connected to the 6in pigtail of this connector for the first 2 feet and the male side of the connector pigtail for the remaining 6 inches. br>br>For reference, 18 gauge wire at that length *should* be rated to around 10 amps @ 12 volts, or about 120 watts, or slightly more than 6 amps at 18 volts. The connector heated up quickly at 27 watts, becoming extremely warm to the touch. At 50 watts, is that possible? So, whatever gauge stranded wire you want to call it, between the wire and the connection points, I'd only buy it if you're using it to connect to some VERY low-wattage devices. Especially since I'm assuming you'll be running connections longer than 3ft (capacity drops by about half for every doubling of the run length).

Although not 18awg, it is close to the other brands
4/5

These are a great deal, and while the wire isn't exactly 18awg as advertised, it's probably closer to 20awg (the wires are marked as 2x 0). 6mm2, which is only a smidgeon smaller than 19awg). These were made with crimp terminals and 22-inch crimpers. After crimping, the 18awg terminal slid away easily. I had no problems terminating about 60 of these pigtails after upgrading to higher-quality crimpers. br>br>I bought another brand to compare, and it was MUCH thinner wire. br>br>The connectors are nice and snug plugging in to each other, and none of the ones I received appeared to be defective; I would (and will) buy these again for future projects.

Yes,, the 2018 gauge 100% copper wire is real and the insulation isn't that cheap hard plastic that is difficult to strip or work with
5/5

I'm putting together a solar 12 volt battery system to keep my family comfortable if the "Seattle BIG ONE" strikes (which could leave us without power for months). My family will have enough power to charge multiple phones, LI battery lighting, and other electronic devices on a continuous basis. A group of AA/AAA battery chargers must be operated. I've crimped, spliced, and soldered around 17 of these fantastic little plugs so far. They're a great deal at 50 cents each. Just remember that they're 18 gauge and can only carry a maximum of 5 amps. As a result, I would not recommend using these to connect your car to a small 10 amp battery charger.

REMEMBER NOT TO LOAD THEM! When you first open the package, they appear to be nice connectors
3/5

But don't put any sort of strain on them, which I didn't think I was. br>br>I used them to connect a 12VDC power supply to a mini tire pump, the type that almost every driver has in their trunk. I used it to pump air into a bicycle tire. The insides of the plugs melted together, and the casing of the plugs bubbled [see photo]. I had to cut the wires because I couldn't separate them. br>br>I'm not going to say anything negative about these pigtails. They can be used for a variety of things, including LEDs, 19V laptop connectors, speakers, and other low-power electronics. applications involving amperage However, anything over 12 amps is a no-no. It'll melt in your hands as well. They could also start a fire if left unattended. Next time, I'm going to make my own. Good day, br>br>.

Lies

If you mean 22 gauge, then 18 gauge is the correct term. Is it really worth it to intentionally lie about your product to save a few cents on material costs?.

Kate provides excellent customer service
5/5

I received this item today and quickly realized that it would not fit in my TS100 soldering iron (TS 100 requires 5). 5mm*2. These are 5mm in diameter, whereas these are 5mm in diameter. 5mm * 2. 1mm). br>I reached out to Kate (from LILAPEAK) to see if she could help me find a replacement. They quickly responded, stating that they did not have the product in stock and offering a full refund. They also refused to return the item because I was responsible for the shipping costs. This is an excellent example of a business model that puts the customer first. br>MILAPEAK is a product that I strongly recommend!.
