Questions & Answers

Is there a life span for batteries?

The batteries have a limited life span. Amazon formerly offered a very reasonable ac charger, marketed as Sangean's convertible model however, it was actually an ac charger marketed as a Sangean device. A 110 to 220 range. The situation was not like that. It was a pleasure to deal with Sangean and purchase It is imperative that you contact them repeatedly to ensure that your order will be delivered!

Can you tell me how the reception is? Can I get by with this one or should I go with the #18 since it has the antenna? Thanks a lot?

PR - what it is Antennae on the D19 model can be folded or telescopically extended. A fully unfolded version of this product measures 27 inches. The reception on my phone is still good even with the antenna folded down completely. There is nothing bad to say about this

Can this radio be connected to the internet Is there a way to receive Pandora and other internet stations using Wi-Fi?

A "off air" AM and FM radio is all this radio offers. Wifi isn't working or anything else is connected to it. This is a great little receiver for broadcast

This version of the great radio comes in stereo quality
5/5

Both the PR-1 and PR-2 belong to me I have both this D18 (which I have had for several years) and a PR - This is D19, which I just received. It's hard to compare both since I found a lot of reviews on here, but I do wish to express my thoughts on these two Having made a radio, Sangean knows what he is doing It's not just something they do as a hobby It is evident that they have a strong commitment to radios. I am not affiliated with the manufacturer or with any other seller of this It is the review of a radio I purchased myself at Amazon's current rates. )

Compared Mono version) of this PR-recording This model offers excellent reception on FM as well as AM. Following a side-by-side comparison, it is stated as follows This comparison includes many fringe signals side by side. In particular, the 19 is noticeable on AM, since it picks up weak signals with significantly less noise. The wide/narrow bandwidth control is also a really nice feature, which the 18 lacks. This makes significant differences on AM and it could really help with very weak signals. Your goal is to listen for weak signals, but you can only pinpoint the weak signals if you narrow down the already-weak signals , but it has a tiny AM bandwidth that you can hear (the sound gets muffled) if a signal is very weak. Although you may not need to use this control because of the radio's sensitivity, it's a good thing to have. my continued use of the radio, I find that the narrow bandwidth setting is highly beneficial for FM listening. If you choose to narrow the setting on FM (as you do on AM), you will not notice an appreciable reduction in audio quality, so you might be tempted to assume that it will make no difference. The device made no sense for weak, distant FM stations, but when I tested it on some, I found that they may tend to be blocked by adjacent-frequency interference. You will be able to hear the weak station by switching to narrow bandwidth, so your station is not interfered with. Due to the implementation of this control, I am able to listen to two or three FM stations at my location that NO other radio I own is capable of receiving. This makes the FM performance of the PR-620 far superior to that of other radios I own. The D19 turned out to be even better than I thought it would be. Be sure to try this setting if you own the radio and have trouble receiving an FM station. The FM band is very, very close to the 18 band However, I could only find a few weak signals to discern any difference between the two, but the 19 was just a touch better on FM. In its radio wisdom, Sangean has set the stereo threshold on the 19 fairly high, so it will not try to get a stereo signal until the signal is strong enough to do so. It is also possible to simply hold down the display/mono button to lock it to mono. In contrast to other radio models that go into stereo mode even when it means more hiss and do not give the listener any other option, this is a huge plus. (Don't get it twisted -- this radio appears to operate in stereo on the vast majority of stations They are located 50 miles or more It is likely that most other radios would not be able to pick up the weak stations that the 19 can resolve clearly in mono. )

The 19 is about an inch longer and maybe just a fraction of an inch thicker than the 18 As far as the dimensions go, they remain the same. I don't think there's any place you aren't going to be able to take the 18 without the 19 fitting. An interesting feature of the 19 that is not present in the 18 is the top-level navigation experience Presets mounted on the computer. For the most part, I am not a big preset user because they are usually not much easier to use than tuning in a station directly. I'm going to tune in manually since the user has to press a button to activate a preset. However, here it is possible to display presets directly on the radio, which is excellent because you can easily trigger them just by feeling, or with a single button press, which is perfectly acceptable In addition, because you press down on them, you can use one or more at the same time Written by hand. In order to press the preset buttons, you have to hold the radio or at least support it from behind, otherwise you'll just knock it over instead of getting the job done. )

When it comes to sound quality, Sangean usually favors a warm, bass-heavy mix There is bias in the Those who love the old - I like the sound of the old-time radio. The tone of this 19 and the 18 is identical (there is no discernible difference in tonal quality), but if I had my druthers I would like it to sound a little brassier. The brassy sound that Sangean is trying to achieve, or at least I think that is the goal, because some people perceive it as cheap, like an early transistor radio, and that is not what they want. Although I would enjoy the inclusion of a tone control that would give listeners some control, I understand why it would be inconvenient. Battery usage on the 18 is moderate, and I expect battery usage on the 18 to be similar to what I've seen so It seems some people have complained about the battery life of both of these radios, but it's important to consider that there is a lot more audio power in these radios than in other small radios, and that the amplifier consumes the majority of the power. I would recommend buying AA batteries, a charger, and a set of rechargeable batteries (about $15 in total) to ensure you never again worry about battery life. Keeping AA alkaline batteries in a drawer will allow you to insert them while the rechargeable batteries are being charged, so you can still listen to your radio. As a final note, the Auxiliaries I love the built-in feature on the 19 which I didn't have on the 18 - it makes playing music from your phone or tablet extremely easy. It has been suggested that Bluetooth are a good addition to this radio, but I'm satisfied with The fifth jack is installed. It can be plugged in without requiring pairing, so you won't have to deal with that hassle. Using Auxiliary- (I can suggest one thing to use There are reviews of other audio equipment in which users are reporting that using aux-in has damaged the speakers of the radio or other equipment Even though I haven't heard of that happening with this particular radio, it could happen on any equipment that is capable of that. When connecting cables between your radio and your phone, tablet, or other audio source device, turn the radio off before connecting the cables. The purpose of this is to avoid loud crackling noises that may occur because of electrical interference, which can damage your After that, you should start playing the audio on your output device at a low volume and then turn on the radio. Volume must be adjusted on the output device so that the level heard on the radio's speakers when aux-in is clear This means I am not using a radio station volume that is louder than the volume that I would use for music. It is possible to switch back and forth between aux-in Check the volume you're getting with an auxiliary jack after tuning into a radio station briefly As if a station were that. Whenever you are using a device with its own amplifier, such as your phone, it is important to perform this test to prevent you from pushing more power through your speakers than they can handle, potentially causing them damage. ) *BR**br **br** The I recommend the D19 radio due to its excellent features, easy controls, and relatively low This device can be set to set alarms and all that, or it can simply be turned on and listened to. Moreover, reception services are available From this perspective, this is about the best that can be done.

It is an excellent radio in all aspects - I am very happy with it
4/5

I like the way it looks and it works. A Sangean PR-300 was purchased by me This review of the D19 radio is based on the review of its predecessor, the PR-49 You can listen to D18 on radio jay allen and read Having used the radio for a couple of months, I will give it a four out of five Still rated as a star, although a few points were negative Despite the disadvantages, the pros vastly outweigh them. It is an excellent radio in all aspects - I am very happy with it. Besides looking good and working well, it was also manufactured with good engineering, ergonomics, and manufacturing processes. The pros are Please note that An FM radio with good With this radio, I can pick up stations that I am unable to pick up with my Yamaha receiver with its three-foot Please note that The size of the book is convenient. It fits on a thin Rubber bumpers protect the radio from sliding and reduce the risk of it slipping. Please note that The sound is good. My garage doesn't fill quickly with music when I'm out there working, but it is enough to fill it when I am not at home. Please note that It's that simple. It is difficult to operate many devices because they have too many features that make their All that this Sangean clock radio does is to play AM/FM. It's great for using the FM only, and I really don't use it for anything else. Please note that Getting there in the right direction. Complete and well written, the user manual contains all necessary information. In order to perform certain tasks, you need to refer to the manual. Some of the initial settings require referencing the manual. Those cons are Please note that The non-profit sector is small and non-profit The labels on the buttons are illuminated. The radio fades in and out in the dark, so I have to use my reading glasses continually to determine the labeling and function of the buttons. I find the radio more difficult to read if it is dark outside. I have no doubt that this is my biggest complaint about Please note that There had to be an additional charge for the AC power supply. In my opinion, a radio of this quality and cost should have included a power supply, especially since many of the reviews of its sibling the PR-101 mention the power supply as an essential feature. It has a good appetite for batteries, as indicated by D18. There has been some discussion of the need to use a full wave bridge rectifier rather than a switching supply for Sangean radios since switching supplies can sometimes result in The power supply I bought for the PR-E is from Sangean party of the We have tested D19 and can report that AM stations pick up almost as clearly when powered with Sangean power supplies as when batteries are used.

It has been confirmed that D19 is valid
5/5

The mini- In a review I wrote over two years ago of the PR-77 I discussed its powerful features and its portability. We reviewed the D18 Sangean station and gave it five stars. It was interesting to see that a stereo version had been released Since D19 was available, I decided to buy it as well. The PR-evaluation I found to be an honest one A few features of the D19 are similar to those of This is D18. The reception is excellent, the speakers sound decent, and the headset jack produces stereo sound. Uses 4 AA NiMH batteries and a USB 5 volt 1 amp power supply. What's The following is a comparison of 20 The PR-2010 comes with a programmable station setting, as well as a cell phone or MP3 player auxiliary jack, stereo speakers, and a digital clock. There is an extra dimension in D19 compared to PR-1 The sum of eight by one is eight times one. A square of 6 x 4 is required. A 2 inch difference is equivalent to a 4 inch difference. The sum of five x one is five. There are four squares in a row. A 2 inch thick display. 1) The headphone jack remains IMPORTANT NOTE You will need a USB to 5 port in order to charge your phone using a USB charger. This is a 2 mm thick tape. On Amazon, you can purchase a 5 volt barrel power cable with a 1 mm diameter. I wanted something that provided radio reception and could play cassette tapes in a small package back then. Due to technology advances, cassettes are no longer used, but internet radio and MP3s are. PR - what it is This micro multimedia device is awesome! I can't wait to use it!.
