No assembly was required, as far as I recall. Because I was packed in styrofoam, I had to remove it. The antenna and knobs, on the other hand, were already attached and no assembly was required.

Selected User Reviews For Retekess TR604 AM FM Radio, Portable Radios with Best Reception, AC or D Battery Powered Analog Radio, with Clear Dial and Large Knob, for Home(Sliver)
When my elderly sister wants to listen to the radio before going to bed, she can confidently turn one knob for volume and a second knob for station selection. There are no cluttered knobs to turn for volume control and station selection, no soft, unresponsive buttons with tiny 3 letter qbbreviations identifying meaningless functions to push, and no soft, unresponsive buttons with their surfaces inscribed with tiny 3 letter qbbreviiations identifying meaningless functions to push.
The radio works fine, but when I turn it on, it is far too loud, and I have to quickly turn it down. Maybe it's because it takes a long time for the radio to play, so I've already turned it up too loud, or maybe the control is just too sensitive; if you want the volume to be soft, be careful when turning it off.
This is ideal for my requirements; it isn't overly complicated. It's compact, making it simple to transport and move. The volume is a little tricky, and I couldn't quite get it right for some reason. I use it in my office, and it would be fine if it were just me and no one else there, but I think it's either too loud or too quiet, and it annoys others.
This vintage radio was purchased for a family member who misses the days when radios were simpler. And this radio is a good example of that. br>br>Because the dials are sensitive, it can be difficult to zero in on a station (where digital would be more precise). br>br>Older radios had metal dials and other features; this one is all plastic, which some purists may not appreciate. br>br>It doesn't appear to have a broad range, only picking up a fraction of what your car radio picks up. It performs slightly better than a smaller handheld device. If you're going to use it in a rural area, keep this in mind. br>br>As a result, the only thing that distinguishes this vintage radio is its appearance and manual dial. The price was a little high for such low-cost plastic, in my opinion, which is why I gave it four stars.
We chose the silver because it has a nice style, is easy to dial in stations, has a lot of band width and great sound, and has a solid feel. We couldn't be happier with it.
The Detroit FM classical music station, which I adore, can only be heard on this radio. I also appreciate the standard plug, which eliminates the need for a transformer. It far outperforms my expensive Tivoli Model One in terms of reception and sound quality for a portable radio.
Not a high-quality product, but it does the job. The volume control is extremely finicky, ranging from very quiet to extremely loud.
Because it only had one station, we had to replace another radio in our basement. This one is fantastic! With the antenna, it picks up a lot of stations, has a great retro look, and the sound is fantastic for the price. The large buttons make tuning and adjusting volume easy for my husband. This is something I would strongly suggest.
