It does not light up in order to conserve battery power.
There are eight inches of length and six inches of height on it. This is a nice size that fits on top of a counter but is not too large for carrying around. My favorite thing about it is that it is nicely made. We would like the dials to light up, but they do not.

It offers 3 enhancements from the Studebaker SB2001 model radio. (*) This is an improvement over the SB2003. On the other hand, though, one may prefer either the design of the radio or the ease with which it can be controlled with the SB2003's smaller control knobs. Unlike SB2001, SB2003 can still be powered by house cord or 4 "C" batteries, and as another reviewer pointed out, in addition to the Aux-in jack, SB3000 also has a headphone jack. . . a feature that was lacking on While I enjoyed the SB2001's speaker, I did not want to lug around a big radio just to listen to it through headphones. However, I do like how they improved the knobs, which on the SB2001 were quite difficult to use. It is extremely hard to tell where the SB2001 or SB2003 improve from the SB2000. The SB2001 or SB2003 has a completely different DSP circuit that does not have the problem with the SB2000, when turned up fully, the radio would shut off (cycle off). My interest would lie in the design of a model by "Spectra" that made use of the same DSP circuit, but offered a digital readout so that weak signals could be tuned more precisely.
At the moment I need to play around with the dial because it won't stay in one place on weak AM signals and tends to go up and down The volume is down since it cannot get a lock on weak signal (that is also true of the SB2001) but at least it does have some selectivity, in that it picks up weak AM signals, which is not the case with most analog and digital display DSP radios.
It was hard to choose from the many options on Amazon, so I settled on In the box I opened when I received it, I was surprised and a bit disappointed because it was the wrong size for me. There is a clear description of the dimensions in the details. I should have checked this before ordering. The mistake was all mine since I wasn't looking, but I just assumed most transistor radios I was able to hook it up (it also uses four C batteries, which I prefer, since I don't want to see my cords) and turn it on. I was blown away and am very pleased with this little gadget! There is no way to describe how amazing the sound on this radio is! I swear, it sounds like a big stereo system! It's possible for me to tune in to several channels without encountering any static. I love the retro look this radio has and it's exactly what I wanted! Despite its sturdy and lightweight nature, it is very durable. I had to cross my fingers to get my old radio to tune in, but this one is so easy to use. This was a perfect match for me despite its bigger size than what I had in mind. When I am getting ready in the morning, I look forward to getting it going. I am in love with this radio.
nbsp It's just a matter of buying it! Having a radio seems odd to me with YouTube, Pandora, a tablet, and an ipod. It was a must for me to have a radio! We troll the beach while listening to the FM radio, I dance with my booty in the kitchen, I garden outside, we go to the beach while listening to our My phone can be turned off, the TV can be turned off and only some simple music will be played! The green is awesome and it looks so cool! Regardless of the color, I think it's going to look great! It has an auxiliary outlet so you can plug in other devices and play! This device runs on three C batteries or you can plug it The thought of installing a landline phone again is weighing heavily on my mind. Whatever happens, I'm done with it! When I was a kid, life was so simple! The fact that we make things faster and stuff also makes us feel smart, but screw apps and charging stuff! Having a good balance is important, and that's where this little gem.

A beautiful radio with a crackling sound that makes it an unsatisfying experience. A vibration can be heard from the speaker grill even when a low volume is set.
In my kitchen, I have this adorable little radio that I use while baking and cooking. I like the way it looks on my counter top, and it is easy to use. From guests, I have received several compliments about it. That sounds like a good idea as well.
