Battery kit was received very quickly and in good condition. It was packaged in a small box containing tools in a zip lock bag, and the battery was sealed in an antistatic bag The static bag isn't useful though the kit is a good one. There is less capacity in the battery than the stock OEM battery, only providing 3 hours when watching movies before recharging is required. Similarly, for some reason the iTouch will not charge all the way to 100%, but will only charge No idea what the issue is with the battery? If you are planning on doing a DIY project, take your time and don't rush. It was pretty straight forward and had Please take note of the following points *When replacing batteries, make certain that the terminals are plated with plenty of solder flux. *Also, the danger of a cold solder joint is very high.
For people who have experience with fine electronics repair, this kit is the right choice. In order to install it, you need the correct tools that most people do not have. This was done by a repair shop. Most people will not be able to make this project on their own.
As advertised, this product works as described. Based on my review of some previous reviews, I would suggest that anyone thinking about purchasing/replacing this kit view the instruction video on youtube before purchasing or undertaking this task. There is no need to desolder the existing battery, and you will only need to solder the fine tip of the new battery. If you want to replace the iPod battery safely without damaging the iPod or the new battery, it is a matter of fine soldering skills.
We got three or four. It allows for 5 hours of streaming video on the very first charge, which is great for the price. A local repair shop would charge $110 for the same work. A few edits I haven't been able to charge the iPod after one month. Due to the soldering involved, this can be a very challenging process to do. The only person who says it is easy either wants to sell you an LED battery or earns their living repairing electronic products. Given the complication of the project, I would only recommend doing this as a last resort if you are very handy. ** Editor's note It would not be a good idea to buy this battery replacement.
I give this product four stars as it meets the Original post I've charged this for 24 hours and it still doesn't do anything but show low battery. I think it's a bad battery because it's getting power, but it's obviously working.
However, the battery capacity is disappointing, in spite of the fact that it is a good complete kit. Having replaced the stock battery in the iPod Touch 6 which only had a run time of about a minute, I have been able to get more run time. It is expected to be increased by a significant amount within 2 hours. The running costs of the battery are determined instead by the number of charge/discharge cycles There is still only a little over a minute of time remaining with the new battery. It takes about two hours. It doesn't seem like this is a new battery. I am disappointed.
I was able to install the product easily, and the fit was perfect. Just remember to take your time when soldering the connections.
Sending it back will be my next step.
