Questions & Answers

Is this battery compatible with iPod models with serial numbers beginning with A1136?

I'm not sure what model number you have, but don't buy this unless you already have the tool to open an Apple device. The included tool was a worthless piece of dollar store plastic that did not work.

Great
5/5

the operation I found the tools to be insufficient to open the case, but I had a narrow metal tool to do the job and it came open without damage. The battery cable length was correct; all that was needed was to bend it during installation to match the old one. I followed the instructions to discharge it after installation, and I let it play long play lists, which it did for 7 hours, so it's been charged for a few weeks and seems to be working fine, though I haven't used it yet. So I don't know about the play time yet, but 7 hours seems like a good amount of time for the installed precharge; I was only getting about 25 minutes on a charge at best (it's 16 years old, after all).

It was a little unusual, but it was effective
5/5

On the installation, I'd seen videos. Because the tool's plastic was a little soft, I had to open the case with a pocket knife. The cable was too short for the battery to adhere to the case as shown in the video, so I figured if I left the old battery in place, I could place the new battery as shown in the picture, and the cable would be long enough. The case would then be unable to be reassembled because the battery had to fit into the cavity at the very top. The old battery had to be taken out. The length gained from turning the battery over was sufficient to reach the bottom connection. The adhesive was on the correct side because it was attached to the other case; however, it should be kept to one side to allow for the earphone jack. Then it was reassembled, and I was able to reclaim my old iPod for only $12. I'm still listening to music and listening to podcasts.

Excellent power source
5/5

For my IPod 5th generation, this is an excellent battery. I had previously purchased a battery from another vendor, which had lasted about a week. The video would then start blinking and light up. I thought my old iPod was toast, but that was not the case. So I took a chance and bought this battery; the IPod started working right away and has continued to work normally for several months.

Fantastic power source! This iPod has been in my possession for at least two decades
5/5

It was amazing to put a battery in and have it work as new. It's an excellent substitute. To remove the original battery, you'll need a lot of patience as well as some strength. I did use the tools that came with it, as well as some metal tools. I'd buy from them again in a heartbeat.

Wow! A 12-volt battery that was dead on arrival
3/5

99! What a fantastic bargain! br>br>On a serious note, my battery was completely dead when I received it. I'm guessing it's a ten-year-old battery that hasn't been charged in a long time and is now being sold as a genuine iPod battery that can bring your music player back to life. I should also point out that the adhesive is attached to the battery on the incorrect side. To be honest, it's a bit sad.

Only two points were awarded
3/5

I listened to music for 5 hours. My 30GB video iPod only got 2 hours of battery life, which is the worst I've ever seen. I never use my "video" iPod to watch movies; I only use it to listen to music. Choose another vendor if you don't want to buy, but this is the second vendor I've tried, and both of the batteries I tried were made in China.

In my flash modded iPod 5th generation, it works quite well
5/5

Because a different replacement battery was giving me poor battery life, I bought this battery and installed it in my flash modded iPod; it lasted 5 hours of video playback before dying. This battery has also provided excellent music playback. The actual capacity is 500mAH, as indicated by ink on the adhesive side. (Even though the OEM capacity is 400mAH, this battery is still larger than any OEM battery. ) (The battery I got was made in 2017. ) However, it works perfectly.

What's good, what's bad, and what I don't know
3/5

I bought this battery after doing a lot of research because it looked and sounded exactly like the one that came with my iPod. The cable that winds around the battery and connects to the connection point wasn't the same when I got the battery, so I had to "manipulate" the cable and battery to get it to fit in place like the original. br>br>Once I fixed that, everything seemed to work fine, as the battery charged and powered up as it should. (I'm still having trouble getting the iPod to work [I'm replacing the click wheel now], so I can't comment on how well this battery performs in everyday use. ).
