(I had the original battery in my iPod and it did not hold a charge). After watching videos and searching for information, I learned that iPod batteries may be replaced by opening the device. You might still be able to open it with a knife and small screwdriver, though I recommend getting a specific tool set for it. You need to be careful once you separate the pieces as there are two ribbon cables that hold them You can try tweezers or pliers to lift up on the lock holding down the battery ribbon cable, then lay the iPod open side down. To remove the battery, pry it up (it is glued in). Putting your iPod back together requires you to attach the new battery cable first and lock it down. Place your new battery in the slot and then attach your iPod to its case. The one I used worked right away. Until we find out how long the battery lasts, it's too soon to tell.
As described and pictured in the ad, this battery has 450mAh capacity, which is exactly what An 850 mAh battery that is too thick was sent to me! What I ordered is what I want! A size does not fit all, and a bigger size always does not mean a better one! My original puffed battery and my new one are shown in the photo below.
Despite the discount, it's still awesome!.
It would have been more useful if the tools included to remove the back of the iPod were included-.
You did a great job, thank you.
I like it.
