This item is extremely durable. Next year's copier will be fantastic. China is the source of this product. For a long time, I've relied on a relatively low-cost binding machine. Despite the fact that they both bind documents without difficulty, this one has a few additional "benefits. " br>br>If you don't have a "fancy" copy machine that can staple and punch holes, this is an excellent item to keep near your copier. Even though most people have a stapler on their desk, having one right next to the copy machine as part of this unit is certainly more convenient. br>br>Both the three-hole punch and the binding mechanism operate without a hitch. Though it says you can put 30 sheets in the 3 hole punch and 20 sheets in the binder for punching, I only put about half that amount in there so the handle isn't overworked. br>br>There's only one thing missing. . . my "cheap" binder doesn't have a spring-loaded cover. It will tell you what size of comb you need to use after you've loaded the tab and placed your documents beneath it. That's very useful. This one doesn't have that, so you'll have to either know how many pages you're binding and then check the comb size. . . or just wing it and change combs if you don't have the right size. br>br>At 19 pounds, this is a fairly heavy unit. It doesn't move around on the counter, which I like. It's definitely something you'll want to keep out on the counter all the time, rather than something you'll want to bring in and out as needed. Made in China. br>br>.
