Display unit measures about 4 inches wide by 8 inches tall. A 1 inch square. As shown in the third image, please refer to the A diameter of 1 is approximately the size of the transducer. The thickness of an 8-inch computer screen.
Fish on the screen will not be able to detect bait/jig and show it as such. Fish only swim in the water, so sonar fish finders detect only them. When a sonar senses the air in a fish's swim bladder, it determines there is fish in the water. It is also for this reason why the fish finder will be affected by small bubbles in the water. First one just worked to show a My email was sent to the company and I received a new one two days later. I can use it on my kayak just fine. It is very easy to control the displayed depth with its simple controls and accurate display. operated the device for about 4 hours on the first set of batteries and it is still working well. The backlighting and display are both quite good. In fact, you can actually submerge the transducer in some water on the floor of a kayak, and it will read depth just fine. Not sure how accurate it will be using it in this way for the other features, though. The item is well designed and is a good price. *UPDATE* I am still pleased with this purchase after 5 months of use. The batteries have lasted me about 30 hours and I still have the first set on hand! As a result, most of the time I had mine set to low power mode, so that it only showed depth information. I think you will be happy with this item if you want a basic sonar and are not willing to spend a lot of money. Buying a bungee cord mount to mount my phone between my knees helped me attach it to my kayak. Paddle or fish there, but it's not convenient for either of these activities. In some comments, the unit is referred to as non-waterproof, and so are the instructions. The paddle in my case isn't waterproof, but it has held up fine when I have let the paddle dribble on it occasionally. I use it almost exclusively in salt water, so if it was going to die, that should have been the cause. It continues to work well, and the display is very clear in bright sunshine. A highly recommended product!.
In my case, I use it primarily to find depth and to spot structures. If fish aren't moving, it doesn't see them. Although I am unable to determine exactly what its small, medium, and large sizes are, it seems to pick up sunfish and other smaller fish quite well. All in all, it was what it was described to be and it was good for the price. There won't be any need for anything more for my kayak for some time.
I like how it works. The installation of a transducer through a scupper hole is easy, just get creative, and recesses are nice to prevent damage to the transducer.
The customer service here is great. I had a faulty unit and they sent me a replacement super fast. This mount works great on my fishing kayak and I also use a Yakattack track to mount a Ram small phone. As I don't yet have a transducer arm, I simply hang it over the side of the seat and tuck the excess under the In terms of the units themselves, they work My main purpose is reading depths, but it can also send me an alert if fish are nearby.
I use it on my Jon boat every weekend.
As a depth finder, it works very well. The canoe cover makes it easy to transport while being lightweight and convenient. It is still a concern of mine as to how accurate the fish finder is. The fish seem to be going off all the time, but it cannot be picking up fish as it seems to go off all the time. The biggest walleye I have caught with it came from it so I am torn between giving it a five star review or a two-star review. You do get what you pay for, though it feels a bit cheap.
Used it a few times, and it appears to be simple to use.
Fish were caught in the place where it said fish were.
