I don't know, we don't own the old Bose speaker with the 30pin adapter, but we do own the newer one with Bluetooth functionality. With our portable Singing Machine karaoke system and the rotary Ipad dock (30pin), I use this on the Singing Machine.
It's better now! A high level of quality and a high level of customer service without being overbearing The price of the item.
You can use the Layen adapter as long as your device has a 30 pin connector (earlier iPhone before the lighting connector).
My LAYEN i- TEC i8 is what I use I have SYNC inserted into the iPOD and connected to the amplifier by Bose. Using this method, I am able to connect my iPod via Bluetooth and keep it separate from my amplifier. With my amplifier, I get very good sound quality when I turn on the Bluetooth on my iPOD and the connection always works smooth. I would have gotten better results if I had mounted my iPOD on the base so that its audio output would be directly channeled

Customer support is very friendly and responsive, and the package was delivered very quickly. Within 24 hours I received replies with more information and advice on other things to try when I had an issue I thought was caused by my speaker just being old (2004). With this new feature, my Bose speaker is now connected to my phone and music sounds fantastic! Thanks for saving me the trouble of replacing.
I was able to connect my iPad and iPhone right away. I find the sound to be very good. It is controlled by the remote control of my Bose iPod docking station, which adjusts the volume according to the output volume from my iPhone and iPad. Your Bose remote will control the full range of volume on those devices or vice versa if they are turned up.
The only thing that could connect to my old Bose speaker was an iPod. I got this though because I had an old Bose speaker that sounds great. Because they don't make them anymore, I was hoping to find something I could turn into a Bluetooth connection and use with my I found this to be very useful. A breeze to set up!.
They did not respond when i messaged them a week before i ordered it to check if it was compatible with my Sony stereo, because it was not included in the list of compatible or incompatible devices. The last time I messaged them was over two weeks ago. The stereo that I hooked up to it went into safe mode when connected. In the future, stereo will not be supported.
I am so happy to have found this little device! Using this in a Bose iPod speaker means you don't need to plug it in and the sound quality isn't compromised to the point where you notice it. A real bonus of the receiver is the fact that it charges in the 30 pin dock. This makes my dock portable. I would say that it's worth the investment.
The product seems good. I have a lot of devices that come with the 30-day warranty. I mean the old Bose Soundocks, which were pin sound boxes. I am very pleased with it! I won't hesitate to refer others to this.
My old Bose speakers that were collecting dust for years were saved with this item. As of so far, the bluetooth connection has been quick. The sound quality of the speakers hasn't been compromised. The tool is great!.
There is, however, a limit to the volume range. This is the Internet The sync installed without any problems, however the volume of wheat seems to be limited to about 60%. If you are using an iPhone or iPad, you will need to track it. Using the Bose Sound Dock remote, you can control only the volume and on/off functions. It became necessary to return as a result of volume issues.
