I am a truck driver, and I have used many different GPS systems over the years. It doesn't seem like much has changed since 20 years ago. I know if you follow it, you will get to your destination, but the problem is, you'll never get there. In many GPS systems, the information on road changes is not updated since local municipalities do not notify DOT at the state level of road changes in a timely manner. There are roads in our area that have been under construction for over five years and have been in use for two. I am driving through fields and jumping rivers, according to the GPS. The two TND units I have had ( both upgraded ) lasted for about a year each ( both batteries shot out), I was lucky that I had been backing up my address book as I added locations ( 800+ ). Consequently, I was able to take a copy out and load it onto my new one without a problem. There is hope that this one will last longer than a year, and that eventually the maps will be I hope that if this one fails, their newer version will be compatible with my address book.
Navigation on GPS is unreliable. I was driven on roads that should not be used by semi trucks or cars. I had to contact the customer to determine the correct route. Even though the GPS was plugged in, the item shut down three different times in two weeks because of low battery. Once the item is turned on, it immediately begins charging, no matter how long the battery has been charged over night. * Does not provide a low clearance warning. There was a sign warning me about a low clearance two miles away on the route.
The screen was very small, difficult to navigate, smaller than the one my six year old had. The customer service is terrible, servers are down all the time, but the truck stops are great and the service is.
It is easy to navigate and find what I'm looking for. I have used it several times before and have always been satisfied.
