While it took me a while to get used to it, it is a terrific device. I'm really impressed with the WiFi capabilities for updating, as there's no need to hook up to a computer or go through a bunch of procedures. have had it for little more than a month and I am totally happy with it. You may burn up the battery with this practice, which will shorten the life of the GPS. The one tip I learned from my last GPS was to not leave it plugged in all the time.
I love it! It's just right for me to have a 7" screen. This is one of the best investments you can make.
Car haulers are who I am. After using it with my Google Maps for a week, I was not satisfied with the Garmin GPS. You can't use the app on your phone without the app If it is a Bluetooth connection, no traffic will be shown. If I received a phone call, the GPS would keep switching from my phone to the GPS. I didn't like that it would connect to my phone. My nerves were getting the best of me when that happened. If I'm going to spend $400 on maps, I'd rather use Google maps instead. The only thing that would be perfect is if Google maps knew the height of each bridge.
It's a quality piece of hardware, and that's what matters most. The GPS device is durable, functional, boots up quickly, and has a great touchscreen, unlike some of the other GPS units I've used. The only problem is that Garmin's maps are crap! I can make sure that my maps are currently accurate and current with this device This unit has the best date but makes errors all the time. It sends me down closed roads that no longer exist, etc. In addition, this unit does not have a "detour" button like previous garmin GPS units I've owned. There are a few things as stubborn as a horse's ass and they won't change their minds if it wants you to take the road that's closed. The only way to get the job done is to retrain You can manually enter a different route yourself if you choose (so what is the purpose of the GPS a) give us back the detour button, Garmin! The GPS still has some major flaws, though, which will annoy you. You can do without it, and not have a GPS at all, or get stuck under a low bridge because you used phone GPS.
I received a message from sale the same day asking what I thought about the Service was top notch. Will buy again from this company without a second thought.
