For my BMW motorcycle, I had a standard powerlet plug. It was never able to maintain a secure connection with the socket. This plug is always connected to power and remains plugged in.

I believe I was dealt a bad hand. Internal screws for holding wires coming into the plug and where the wires would connect inside the plug were overtightened, indicating that the plug was poorly put together. I couldn't get any of them to loosen without causing damage to the internal connections of the plugs.

This is a very well-made product that isn't junk. Invest in this high-quality powerlet plug instead of a chinese knockoff.

Although the design is not particularly appealing, it functions flawlessly. For added protection, I wrapped the cord where it exits the plug in heat shrink. I used it to switch out the plugs on my heat-pump. troller.
