Questions & Answers

What recycling instructions do you receive with the battery you replace?

The instructions for recycling these batteries are not provided, and Home Depot will not accept these batteries at their recycling centers, contrary to Call2Recycle information. In the end, I had to take the batteries to a battery shop who took them off my hands. According to May 2021, this will be the case in California.

This battery is for a APC xs 1500 unit, right?

According to the information provided, the battery pack can be used on most, if not all XS 1500 units, but it isn't always plug-and-play The play-and-play method. I received a pack that is for newer units of the XS 1500 so that it is easy to install and compatible. In addition to the newer (light grey case), it will also work in older Currently, I am the owner of a UPS XS 1500. The new battery pack's connection socket is different from that of the old XS 1500, so it is not PLUG AND PLAY. It is very important that you remove the mounting bracket that came with this new RBC (Replacement Battery Pack)124) and reuse the old mounting bracket that came with your old XS 1500 unit because it has the correct connector to be plugged We older XS 1500 Back-up users have found that the replacement process is extremely confusing, especially for those of us with older XS 1500 Back-ups It is due to UPS reusing model numbers and publishing conflicting information, as the new and old units have the same model numbers, but different mounting brackets and wiring harnesses.

RBC123 and RBC124 are the same, but what are the differences? Can one be a better choice than the other for me with my br1500g?

In terms of capacity, they are different. There are two types of batteries in the RBC123 and RBC124. The RBC123 contains seven Ah and the RBC124 contains nine Ah. Physically, they could be swapped for each other. It is possible to use either in a UPS designed for either application. As shown by the chart below, the RBC124 battery may have a more robust charging capability, so charging the smaller 1000 VA UPS with the larger battery will likely take longer. A typical load (a desktop PC with a 23" LCD monitor and normal peripherals) will take the same amount of time to run as with a typical load You'll have a few more minutes left on the RBC124 before it shuts down.

How do I replace the battery in the AP C XS 1000?

In short, yes. You can use the battery selection tool on the APC website to locate the correct battery model number by checking the bottom of the unit. It will show the 123 battery as the right one. Externally, the 124 is very similar to the 124, except it has a larger The 124 will be used as well, but you will just get more time out of it.

Reviewing this book took me a long time. My apology has been rescinded Based on what I have learned, I have written it. In case you have the same problem as I did, I hope it will help you. I am satisfied with this battery. It has a 5-star rating for the battery, but not so much for the customer service provided by APC. Read on for more. In order to replace the original battery in my BR1500G UPS, I purchased this battery. A battery for this UPS, along with the UPS itself, was originally installed in January The UPS itself was tested on 9/9/2013, so it was manufactured at some point in 2013, according to the test data sheet that came with it. It used to happen that we had a lot of brief power interruptions (these don't happen as often now, Florida Power and Light has improved their system, but we still have them every few months). I have 6 UPS systems. UPS's are located throughout the house one at the main Dish Network DVR device, and at each of our four iMacs/PCs As part of my routine, I replace UPS batteries every three years, but this one somehow slipped my mind. In other words, the battery failed after over four years. Here's what happened as to why it failed All the racks in the rack room were dead one day. There was no UPS in the building. re-turned it on, and the icon of the battery came up, but there was an "X" over it. My new battery is now installed, so I ordered a new one for A slide in is all it takes. In any case, the UPS only indicated a run time of 10 minutes after charging for two days, which I know is not correct based on what I have experienced. The UPS is loaded with I contacted the APC customer service via chat since I was worried that the battery may be defective. The person I spoke to informed me that my UPS was over five years old and had reached the end of its life. I was about to order a new UPS when I followed the links and read the In response to a question, one respondent mentioned that after a battery was replaced it was necessary to run the self test and also to run the Power Chute software to set a new "battery replacement date. ". The Power Chute software is something I have never played with, but I highly recommend it after using As a result, I did this, and the UPS now indicates 27 minutes of run time, which I consider to be reasonable for this UPS with 210 watts of load. It is unfortunate that there is no documentation that spells out how to perform this function. included in the original documents that come with the UPS, nor is it in the battery replacement document. I also did not get this instruction from APC customer support. 514 PM At 552 I'm Devi and I am one of the members of APC by Schneider Electric. Thank you for contacting us. Until next time, thanks and good bye. 514 PM Twelve o'clock noon) It would be great if you could get in touch with 514 PM Tuesday, February 22, 2018) It is my pleasure to assist you. 514 PM At 2745 I hope your day is going well! In response to the above chat session, I would like to say the following Devi seemed to not understand that I was doing a hot swap, and could not charge the UPS before I connected the equipment to it. The problem with the above chat is not the advice that was given, but the fact that Devi failed to understand that it was a hot swap. For Devi to suggest that in my case it would be better to just wait a day, for the battery to charge up with the loads connected, would have made sense to me. if there is no load connected to the UPS, then the battery will still charge, because this is what happens when power is restored When power fails, the UPS discharges the battery, power comes back on, and the UPS charges the battery while it is being loaded. I did run the battery status test after charging for two days, and now the blue "X" over the icon no longer appears. This means that at least, Devi's information is accurate! * However, after running the self test, the UPS only has a 10 minute run time, and I was only using 210 watts (24%) of power when it was tested. The run time of other UPSes with more power than 210 watts is much longer. According to APC (see second chat session below), my UPS is near or at the end of its life. I purchased the UPS in January 2014, so I got more than 4 years from it. Yet, this UPS has nothing to complain about. I mentioned above, I just needed to reset the battery replacement date in Power Chute software, which would allow the UPS to be recalibrated I'm doing my second chat for anyone that might be an interested party I'm Monica 10) 1530 I am Monica from APC by Schneider Electric, and I am grateful for your contact with us. I am retired from my position as a back-up technician with APC XS 1500 is the UPS shipping system
5/5

I found this battery pack to be an OEM replacement for my APC back-up battery XS 1500 is the UPS shipping system. My attempt to find the correct battery was made difficult because APC seems to have used the same model number for a number of UPS systems that are very similar in function. The aftermarket battery market appears to have multiple models with good performance, however many of them require you to disassemble the bracket that came with the original battery and reassemble it Put it to good use. This OEM battery can be plugged in and used immediately. As the bracket is already installed, all you need to do is remove the old battery and slide in the new one. Since the battery fits in the unit only one way (notches prevent the battery from being put in upside down), it is impossible to mess up. The aftermarket parts seem to also come in a variety of capacities, actually down to 7AH. There is a 9aH pack in this APC version that will give you a few minutes more run-time In comparison with the 7aH packs, the 7aH packs take less time. My UPS has been on for many years, and this is the first time I have had to replace the battery. In some other reviews, it is mentioned that the pack has to be installed with APC software in order to work. The software is not installed on my system, and I have not used It has worked fine since I replaced it, and I can no longer see the "bad battery" icon on the UPS LCD display. It is not necessary to install software.

Batteries Pro Backups Pro BR1500G APCRBC124 replacement
4/5

On 11-November, I purchased an APCRBC124 replacement battery on Amazon In 2017 (just like I had done back in 2014 when the unit indicated it needed to be replaced, and the replacement worked flawlessly). The replacement didn't pass its self-test from the start this time. I will allow it to 'charge' for a few hours before testing again just in case that is the cause of the failure. If the unit still shows full charge, it just needs a bit of time to recharge. If not, I might try another brand before deciding if I should replace the battery completely or go through the hassle of trying to get a working replacement. *********Update- I will update after a new test. The 12-year-old **Installed 12 months ago I failed my self-test at the time of installation in 2017. In 12 days, after it has had a chance to charge, I will run another self-test As of now, it has In the last 2 years, the battery that was in the unit when I bought it only lasted a little over 2 years. I hope this battery will last 3 years. It passed the initial self-test on the first attempt. The first battery I purchased in 2014 passed the self-test. The 3 years of that one turned out to be correct. My concern with this third and most recent replacement 2017 is that it may not live up to the 3 years it was supposed to - As time goes on, we will see what happens. As of now I will add two stars because it passed the self test on the second try after some charging time. *********Update- It passed the self test on the second time I charged it. It is still charging in 2019
The battery has been running for quite some time. In addition to the 12-month failure report, no other failures have been reported Considering 3-years old, I'm not sure how long it will be before I have to replace it again The life expectancy for these seems to be five years.
