Questions & Answers
We recommend sending it back for an analysis, repair, or replacement if you notice anything out of the ordinary, such as the "sizzling sound.". When operating this power supply, be sure to check your settings and remain within the parameters.
No more than three Amps if the amp draw is under three amps. There are no restrictions on how many devices can be powered by it.
It would be better to have a larger electrical box on both the 120v and 5 volt side. When packing a weatherproof box, do not cram it into a box that is just large enough to fit, or you may find that heat will build up.
With the power supply there are five positions on the terminal strip, three for AC input and two for DC Since this is a switch mode type, it will not produce voltage unless a load is attached (motor, circuit, etc.).

It works well with my ham radio station since it has a 5 volt switching power supply. The program has never failed to protect itself, even when I have abused it a great deal in my experiments. With a perfect 5, it produces a great product. 3 amps are delivered by this device and it operates at 00 volts. In a critical radio listening environment, I use this supply, and it shows no signs of hash or noise. I had several Mean Well supplies in my radio towers when I was working in the broadcast business. It's hard to imagine a time when they failed us. I don't know what the company name stands for, but they build a solid.
Powering an Atomic Pi with this is what I'm doing. The reason I bought several was so that I could have backup parts and in case I needed to power another project. With a multimeter, I was able to measure the 5V for a long period of time without any change.
My hope was that it would work because it's such a cute little unit. The box is opened and the power is on. Approximately 5,3 volts was the voltage at which the voltage started rising. I lowered it as far as I could go, but I could only get it down to In the longer time I had it hooked up to my meter, the higher the voltage became. It had reached all the way up to 5 when I disconnected my meter and turned it off. Voltage should be 8 volts. My board can only handle a maximum voltage of 5v, and I need to power it through a USB cable. This supply isn't compatible with model 5 and so it will not run. Would be nice if it started at 5 volts and stayed at or near that level, so that you had the option of adjusting downward as the voltage rose.
A very nice feature of this wind turbine is that it produces very clean power, has a sturdy housing, and the components are of high quality. This power supply is the perfect solution for my DIY air conditioner unit controller, a project I'm working on. It's fairly reliable, and I like the housing it comes in. There hasn't been any problem with it, and it's the perfect fit for what I was looking for. My recommendation for this one is a resounding yes!.
I received an adjustment of 4 from the unit that I received. 17. 5 to 17. A load of 62V (with load below) is delivered via this. Next to the terminals is an easily accessible adjustment pot (part of which is visible in the photo). Through holes in the case/behind the adjustment knob, there is a bright green LED power indicator. A mounting hole is located on the bottom. A small capacitor and choke were added to smooth output (which isn't needed for most applications), as well as a 50mm 5V cooling fan (also optional) and a DIN bracket with two double-sided screws. Tape from 3M that has two sides. A RTV silicone coating was applied over the protective cover of the terminal strip to help secure it. The bench was stable for 3+ hours with 128V AC input and 1A load before installation.
It is being supplied well. Using the pot next to the terminals means that you can set the voltage exactly where you expect it to be. In addition, there are screw holes on side and back of the piece so that it can be mounted to something. The screws are not included, but I found some machine screws in my PC parts bin that look just right. More information can be found on the website of Mean Well.
I bought two of these units for an aquarium controller project. The size footprint is great, the electricity output is steady, and the performance is great. This was 545 when we called them in. There has been no voltage fluctuation at all, even when the system is fully loaded.
That small 5V power supply came across my path and I'm glad it I love the way it works. I'm currently powering an Arduino and a strip of 36 Ws2812 leds. I want to expand to 8 Ws2811 In my experience, it's working very well and I would certainly purchase another if I required one in the future. The best of the best.
