Questions & Answers

How long have the batteries been on the shelf before you noticed them? When do you think the product will be ready?

The following is taken from the description: "This item is not returnablebr>This item is non-refundable." Returns are not accepted, but if the item is damaged or defective when it arrives, you may request a refund or replacement. "I suppose you can rely on Amazon to back up their purchase. The description also includes the following information: Number of Batteries: 1; however, this is supposed to be a 2 cartridge for a battery You'll only save $5 compared to buying it at the store.

A bx1500g is what I have. The replacement is listed on the apc website as apcrbc124, but the apcrbc123 is listed on Amazon by an apc seller. What's the difference?

I agree with apc's assessment. I'm guessing here, but the 124's batteries have a higher amp hour capacity. The voltage would be the same, but the 124 would provide more run time.

What is the best way to figure out when something was made?

The best part of the purchase is the box it comes in
3/5

My preferred UPS manufacturer is APC, but this replacement battery is a no-no! I received the replacement RBC123 battery for my APC model BN1350G and charged it for 24 hours under no load, as is customary, before putting it into service, and everything appeared to be in working order. Placed unit in service with a 6% load and used it for approximately 6 hours. Woke up to a loud screeching alarm about 8 hours later and the battery was completely deplete It went from full charge to 0 charge and dead right out of the box, which was not what I expected from an "as new" APC battery. However, this is consistent with the massive drop in "quality" and "quality control" that I've seen in products over the last year or two; it just seems that companies don't "care" any longer as long as their profit margins continue to rise, because consumers are numb to the decline and simply pay the price and move on without consequence, so the companies don't see any cost effect of neglect. br>There are fewer and fewer of us who vote with our dollars. I, for one, am not averse to putting forth the effort to find a better value and quality for my money; I'm not a slacker in that regard. br>And then, to add insult to injury, to learn after the purchase and failure that there is NO RETURN on this item, despite the fact that it is not stated anywhere on the sales page. It's like the Obamacare Bill: "In order to read it and understand what's in it, you must first vote for it," what a shell game! Take your money, only to discover that you're betting on a "chance" of receiving a "working" battery! They should include a LOTTO ticket with the battery to seal the deal and even things out!.

This kit will work in an older BackUPS XS-based backup system
4/5

1300, but something has to be done with it. This is a set of two batteries with a strong label on one side and a plastic connector piece in the middle. For newer models of APC power units, this is correct. In order for this to function in my XS- I had to peel off the binding materials and disconnect the connectors on the 1300 to get two separate batteries, which I then connected the same way as the older unit. It wasn't a big deal once I realized they were the same two batteries with different configurations.

For my UPS NS1250, this is the first time I've replaced the battery
5/5

For years, my computer has been powered by an APC UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). It protects my computer from power surges and voltage drops, as well as keeping it running long enough after a complete power outage to safely shut down everything without losing any data. For the past 30 years, APC has played a critical role in our security strategy. Our graphic design and marketing firm is reliant on our UPS systems. br>We live and work in Clearwater, Florida, near Tampa, which is also known as the world's lightning capital. This location receives more light than any other on the planet. As a result, protecting our computers from over and under voltage, which can damage and wear out delicate computer equipment, is critical. br>This is the first time I've had to replace a battery in my NS1250, which is more than 8 years old, if not older. Because APC's equipment is tough and long-lasting, it's great to know that I can still get genuine APC replacement batteries even after the product has been discontinued (newer models have replaced it). br>I slid this battery into its slot, plugged in the UPS, and—voila! Everything works. It's great to see it working again. This book comes highly recommended.

"Inadequate - "An All-New Product
3/5

" Approximately 5 or 6 years ago, we purchased our original backups. br>Our company has provided excellent service for nearly six years. br>br>Both batteries died within a few months of each other. br>I purchased these "New" Replacements. Amazon, on the 26th of January, 2018. br>br>So far, one of the "NEW" batteries has "Failed. " br>The Backup unit indicates a "Bad" battery, and the battery has a Physical "Budge. " br>br>From six years to a little more than six months. br>Wow, that's not cool. br>br>We relied on Amazon to provide a suitable replacement for our company. Instead, we were sold "Junk" by Amazon, which was only good for 30 days. br>br>I "Strongly" advise you to stay away from this product. br>Alternatively, perhaps you enjoy "Gambling" with your money. br>br>I will update this review if Amazon contacts us and offers us a replacement.

In the Amazon Warehouse, there is some old stock
3/5

It turns out that the replacement battery (which came in an OEM sealed box) barely holds a charge, just like the old battery I need to replace because the APC UPS device causes it to fail the battery test. It appears that Amazon sells batteries that have been sitting in their warehouse for years.

It was down to less than 5% capacity within three months
3/5

I don't believe it was ever much higher. Edit: I've sent three emails to APC and have yet to receive a response after more than a week. br>Second revision: No one has gotten back to me after three more emails, a phone call, and a one-star review. This is extremely aggravating; I can't even get standard warranty support. br>br>I assumed these video batteries came directly from APC, but that can't be the case. When I got them, they were almost completely worn out. They never had a lot of capacity, but I didn't get a chance to use it until the power went out due to storms. On a full charge, I got about 30 minutes of battery life with a 5W draw. That is an absurdly low figure. On a 5W draw, I should have gotten 20 hours. I can't return it because it was purchased three months ago. br>br>These batteries should last 3 to 5 years when properly cared for. This one was probably worthless from the start, but as I previously stated, I never had the opportunity to put it to the test. When it comes to purchasing batteries, I'm not sure why it's always such a wild west out there. Purchasing a reliable battery, whether for a backup system, a phone, or a laptop, is extremely difficult. When possible, buy name brand batteries in this situation.

stock from the past
3/5

I bought this brand new and it was still sealed in the box when I received it. I'm not sure how old this battery is because I can't find a date on it. My APC can only charge it to half capacity, and the batteries are still warm. I'll update when it reaches full capacity, but for now, I'm disappointed that I paid more for a name brand replacement and received a battery that is so old that it doesn't work properly.
