Questions & Answers

When you press the keys, are they loud? I have the ornata and am looking for something a little quieter. ?

There's also the Ornata, which is a bit louder. THERE WAS DEFINITELY NO QUIET. However, I must state that they are BOTH EXCELLENT KEYBOARDS. In comparison to the Ornata, this one has higher raised keys. The Ornata is more of a TYPING/GAMING hybrid keyboard, rather than a quiet GAMING keyboard. But it's fantastic.

I'm looking for a place to get the software for my Mac. ?

This is a Windows-only keyboard with a numeric layout based on the United States. Looking at the command keys on the keyboard layout can help you tell the difference between a Windows and a Macintosh keyboard. Windows keyboards have a windows key and CTRL, while Macintosh keyboards have a command key. br>br>As a result, I don't think RAZER's software will be available for MAC users. Due to the fact that it is aimed at Windows PC gamers.

Is it possible to turn off the keyboard light?

The lights can be dimmed or turned off entirely using the function keys. This does not necessitate the use of Synapse.

Is there a case for this?

I'm bumping this because I'd also like to know, but unless the third-party case is transparent, you'd lose the RGB underglow.

Despite the loud keys, this keyboard provides an excellent gaming and typing experience
4/5

can be used in place of keycaps This keyboard has a great feel to it; it's comfortable to type on and play games on, and the overall construction is excellent. notch. However, be cautious - Typing on this keyboard can be loud, as with many mechanical keyboards. As a result, I wouldn't recommend it for use in the office. But for my home use, it's ideal, and I even managed to swap out the keycaps for those of a different brand. br>br>Performance: br>During long gaming sessions, I found the keys to be more comfortable than other keyboards I've used in the past, and I believe this is because I don't have to press the keys as hard to register them. The Huntsman's keys, according to Razer, require slightly less force and register faster than other keyboards. All I can say is that this keyboard has a "broken-in" feel to it. For lack of a better term, I'll call it "in. " The keyboard also includes four media buttons and a moveable dial (one of the four buttons is the dial itself - see below). because it can be rotated as well as pushed in) All of these things can be remapped to your preferences. They were configured to control music playback by default - It manages Spotify in my case. I had no intention of using these media controls, but now that I have them, I'm going to use them. I'll never be able to return to that place again. It's great when I'm playing a game and want to listen to my own music, but I also want to be able to pause that music if the game starts to play a cutscene - By simply pressing a button, you can accomplish all of this. br>br>Macro keys and USB ports are not available: br>Unfortunately, unlike other keyboards in its price range, the Razer Huntsman lacks macro keys (the Corsair K95 does). For some users, this would have been a welcome addition. (When I had keyboards with macro keys, I never used them much. ) ) A USB passthrough port is also found on more expensive keyboards, but the Huntsman lacks it as well. br>br>Keys with a lot of volume: br>As previously stated, most mechanical keyboards are "loud," which can irritate people who are sitting close by. If you're working in an office, I'd suggest switching to a keyboard with "quiet" mechanical keys, such as Cherry Browns on a Corsair keyboard or Razer Orange keys on the Razer Blackwidow. Sadly, Razer does not currently offer a "quieter" version of the Huntsman Elite. br>br>Lighting: br>When compared to Razer's other offerings, such as the Ornata Chroma, the Huntsman's keys are quite bright. While the letters on the Huntsman's keys are noticeably brighter, The underlying membrane of the Ornata Chroma is also illuminated, giving the keys the appearance of floating on a "bed of light. " " I wish Razer had figured out a way to replicate the bed of light effect on the Huntsman, but I'm content with the brighter letters. The lighting on the Huntsman, as you might expect, can be customized to almost any effect you can think of. br>br>Key Replacement: br>After seeing a popular Youtube personality replace his, I replaced the keycaps on my Huntsman with HyperX Doubleshot PBT Keycaps. (The larger keycaps for RETURN, SHIFT, SPACEBAR, and other functions did not fit the Hunstman's switches. ) And while not all of the HyperX Keycaps were compatible (the larger keycaps for RETURN, SHIFT, SPACEBAR, and other functions did not fit the Hunstman's switches), I was able to replace the majority of the keycaps. The keyboard is now even more illuminated as a result of the overall effect. The bottom of the HyperX Keycaps (which are made of white plastic) reacts with the lighting to give the entire keyboard a more brilliant glow. Since replacing the keycaps on the Huntsman appeared to work; I'm sure a lot of other keycaps would work with the Huntsman. However, before making a purchase, you should do your own research. br>br>Installation: br>br>Installation: br>br> br>There are two USB connectors on the Huntsman. After you've connected, you'll need to download the most recent version of Razer Synapse. This is Razer's one-stop shop for everything related to gaming. I own several Razer products and have been using Synapse for over a year. Although it is not difficult to use, the user interface could be improved. Even so, most users can quickly access the most important features, such as lighting customization and re-arranging their workspace. Creating macros and assigning keys The software from Razer does require a login with your information in order to function. I assume the reasoning is that if you use the same Razer products on multiple PCs, you can use the same settings. I'm guessing that the majority of people aren't aware of this option. I do, however. At home and at work, I rely on Razer products. As a result, I find this to be quite useful. Settings I make at home can easily be transferred to my workplace, and vice versa. br>br>Conclusion: br>br> The Huntsman is a fairly expensive keyboard with excellent build quality. The keys are stabilized so that there is minimal "wobble" in the body, which is made of metal. " Add in the "quick" actuation feel, and you've got yourself a fantastic high-performance device. End-of-the-line keyboard that's great for gaming and typing. If you can get past the "loud" keys, this is a great option if you want a high-quality keyboard. For gaming and work, this is a high-end keyboard.

With no internet connection, a $200 keyboard is useless
3/5

Be wary of the buyer! This keyboard receives one star because I recently received confirmation from Razer support that using profiles or any of the keyboard's "special features" necessitates logging into the Razer app. TO PUT IT ANOTHER WAY: Without an internet connection (or until you sign into the Razer app), this $200 keyboard reverts to a standard keyboard. Why extol the virtues of on-the-job training? Is there any memory on the board?.

Feels and reacts beautifully
4/5

OK. First and foremost, there was something about which I was not particularly pleased. I just received my package yesterday, and the seal tape that keeps the box closed had already been cut when it arrived. That bothered me for a moment, but I'll get over it. Something else that is problematic. My keyboard's media keys aren't functioning properly. I'm sure it's not the keyboard because they were working fine when I first plugged it in, so it's got to be a program on my computer that's interfering with spotify and youtube. I just haven't figured it out yet, and it's not because I'm using Chrome. Last but not least, there's the Razer keyboard's app. At first, the game was extremely sluggish. However, after restarting my computer, everything was fine. I was also able to change the colors to my preference. OVERALL. br>br> The Razer Chroma Black Widow was the last keyboard I used to replace the Huntsman. I had it for about 5 years. and I have to say, it's not the same! That keyboard is blown to bits by the Huntsman. This keyboard is fantastic in terms of feel and sound, and I am completely enamored with it. It's a dream to type on and play games on. "My fat fingers press down on the keyboard too hard and the stands collapse," one of the negative reviews for the keyboard said after I bought it. " I've never had a problem like that. Also, the wrist cushion is extremely comfortable and stays in place. If you're undecided about whether or not to get the k95 or the razer huntsman, this is the place to be. You will not be disappointed if you purchase the Huntsman.

A beauty with flaws
3/5

This is a lovely keyboard. The media controls are excellent, and the wrist rest is extremely comfortable. Mechanical keyboards benefit from the addition of laser keys. So, what is the flaw in this product? I've had a couple of problems with the laser keys sticking (!). Connection errors between the keyboard and wrist rest contacts separating during use appeared to be the cause of this. The problem is usually solved by disconnecting everything and reconnecting it. I also had a problem where the keyboard was completely unresponsive upon startup, preventing me from entering my pin on the number pad. Disconnecting and reconnecting the keyboard appeared to bring me back together. Additionally, until the Razer software has finished loading at the desktop, the keyboard is completely unresponsive during startup. This keyboard is acting up more than my old second-hand keyboard, which is a real bummer. This was accomplished by using a hand keyboard. Because of the aforementioned issues, I no longer use it for gaming, which was my intention when I purchased it; however, it is a lovely keyboard - It's not always as functional as a Commodore 64 Classic, but it's there when it's needed.

This is fantastic
5/5

The disadvantages are that it is quite loud, costly, lacks a USB passthrough while still occupying two USB ports (one for the board and key lighting, the other for the border and wrist rest lighting), and lacks macro keys. If you're like me and don't mind those things, this is the best keyboard ever made. To put it bluntly, the lighting effects are incredible. With Razer's RGB software, you can do a ridiculous amount of customizing. You can choose from a variety of effects, patterns, colors, speeds, and frequencies. The crisp click of each key gives you the impression that you're an old badass typewriter expert (if that wasn't already a thing). This is one of the few "gaming" mechanical keyboards that doesn't have ridiculously large letters. It's simple yet elegant. The aluminum frame feels cool to the touch and adds a nice weight to the device. It has a certain air of refinement about it. The wrist rest is incredibly soft and comfortable. It is opulent. If you enjoy typing, gaming, and looking good while doing so, this is the board for you.
