I think this is the quietest keyboard I've ever seen, and I like it. My husband is a PC gamer, and I have an extreme sensitivity to noise. We tested several "silent" gaming keyboards after three and a half years of annoyance, arguments, and a lot of frustration, and this was by far the best of the bunch. I would buy this keyboard again in a heartbeat because it was well worth the money.
I've owned a lot of mechanical keyboards, mostly with Cherry MX Brown switches, and I needed something quieter because I spend a lot of my time on conference calls. I bought this HyperX alloy Core RGB keyboard during Amazon's Prime Day 2019 sale and am very happy with it. PROS: br>br>
- Construction of high quality - will not move on your desk; it will only flex if an unnatural amount of force is applied to the centerbr> - Keycaps that aren't too obnoxious - readable, with no 'gamer' fontbr> - Lighting made of LEDs bright and adaptable to each of the five zonesbr> - Assurance - For me, the real deal breaker with some of the no-name Chinese brands on Amazon is the lack of brand recognition. Two-year warranty from a company that has a customer service department you can callbr> - Tactile - This membrane keyboard reminds me of Cherry Brown switches in terms of tactility. They're far superior to the knockoff Cherry brown switches I've used on Chinese keyboards.
- Quiet - This keyboard has a very low noise level. There is no jittering noise from the keycaps, no noise when the key bottoms out, and no noise when the key returns to its original position. br> There is no software available. You do not require or have access to software to manage the settings on this keyboard. All lighting and Windows key lock can be controlled with the function keys (ie: br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> Braided cable is a type of cable that has been braided several times. - Material of the keycap - Rather than PBT, ABS is used. will collect oils as a result of typing - However, a simple wipe down every now and then will suffice. At this price point, it's reasonable to expect it.
- The indications for Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Game Lock are difficult to spot - Instead of a white led with hard-to-read embossed text, a lighted icon would have been preferable.
The sound stops as soon as the keyboard's backlights are turned off. Maybe I got a bad product, but if this is the norm (which I can't imagine), I'm not going to keep it.
After contacting customer service, I waited a few days for a response, but there was none. I contacted them through Amazon and their official website. br> It seemed like the right thing to do, but no response has been received. br>br>The keyboard frequently dies, requiring you to unplug and re-plug it to get it to work again. br>br>The lights will be turned on, but the computer will not respond to key presses. I've unplugged and plugged it back in seven times in the last 24 hours. It will die suddenly and unexpectedly. There isn't any wear-and-tear on this item. and-tear on the cords, and it must be a hardware issue because it works fine after plugging it back in; however, unplugging your keyboard and plugging it back in seven times in one day is ridiculous. br>br>If they fix it, I'll be sure to update this review. They haven't, according to this review.
Silent keys, beautiful lighting, and a sleek design! If you don't like "clackety-clackety-clackety-clackety-clackety-clackety- If you want RGB but don't need a hardcore gaming keyboard, you'll like this keyboard; I'm an occasional gamer who mostly uses it for office work, so it's perfect and doesn't cost $100. a lot of weight It has a duty-like feel to it, as if it will last; time, as it always does, will tell. This replaces a different RGB keyboard I purchased in September 2016 and had to replace a few weeks ago. Rest assured, that review has been updated. A keyboard, at the very least, should last ten years. I've used crappy Dell OEMs that worked, so a nicer upgraded one should as well. The top buttons for media and board control, as well as the "HyperX" logo, are not lighted, which on a board of this quality SHOULD be. Although $50 is less than many keyboards, it is not "cheap" in my opinion. Despite this, I continue to give this keyboard 5 stars!.
