The Elecraft K3 serial port adapter is used to attach a computer to the serial port on the Elecraft. My struggles with the Prolific chip set have not gone well, so I looked for an alternative product and found this FTDI chip set immediately worked. As for the price, it's reasonable.

The driver installation process took less than a minute. We are currently using windows 7 old model computers for scales, and they are detecting the weight accurately and quickly. The communication is both reliable and fast.
I bought a total of 20 cables because of the ease of installation. At a processing plant where everything needs to be running smoothly, we are using it for scales. Recommend for sure, the price is reasonable and the quality is good.

The "Serial" app can be used on Mac

In order to interface to a sound meter with a RS232/DB9 port, I used this cable. I was able to use the Serial app from the Apple App Store with this cable. (also used another serial terminal app from their store. additional downloads were needed. Those apps knew how to use the cable (and others as well). My computer runs on an iMac with Big Sur This is y).

I was able to find the drivers online and install them even though my laptop did not have a disk drive. The laptop screen showed up instantly on the television once I connected the cable to the display. As well as installing the drivers on other laptops, I have also prepared for the future.
