I think 18 is a good size for this, but I wouldn't go any bigger. A 14 wire will barely fit, according to my research. I couldn't find any information about the best wire sizes.
No, due to the fact that the shell is made of plastic.
According to my understanding of the situation, you have a custom application that only uses two wires. You already know where both wires come from and where they're going, so all you need to know is which pins to use in this device.br>br>The answer is that it doesn't matter. You simply need to match the pin input with the pin output with the appropriate wire. For example, if you know a wire must run from point A on your control to point C on the application device, you can use any pin for the wire coming from A and the wire going to C on the same pin on the opposite plug. br>br>There are no controls or relay circuits on this adapter. It simply connects wires 1 to 1, 2 to 2, and so on; the advantage of the device is that it is simple to connect wires (no soldering) and to figure out which pin number you are using.
The male plugs are the only ones with nuts for inline connections. As a result, if you need to extend a cable, you can daisy chain male/female units. You'll have to buy nuts if you don't have any.

This connector is not only expensive, but it also has a number of flaws. br>br>For starters, the screws provided are incompatible with the metal backshells, preventing them from being clamped over the connector. br>br>Secondly, the metal shell is excessively bulky and heavy. The use of so much metal is completely unnecessary. The cable grommets, on the other hand, are made of plastic rather than rubber. Despite the four sets of cable clamps, it will not grip and provide strain relief unless the cable diameter is the right one. You might be able to get it right with four options. Last but not least, the threaded rod is threaded too long and can easily short a wire if not stripped properly. br>br>I'm going to look for something else.
These were used to wire a cable for programming my scanner, but I'm not sure how they were wired. It's a lot easier to use than having to solder and unsolder connections every time you try something new. Arrived on time and in good condition. I'd buy these connectors again in a heartbeat.
Everything went according to plan. The cable relief with various sized rubber bushings is one of my favorite features. Simple to work with. There are no issues; they aren't completely sealed, but they work well indoors.
Although it is a little bulky, it is very simple to use and provides an excellent serial device breakout.
I couldn't help but give it five stars. It helped me repair a joystick's broken end. It's incredibly simple to set up. It has been performing admirably. If I need more, I will definitely order more.
These connectors make wiring and changing wiring configurations a breeze. They're perfect for my needs. The screw terminals make them a little bigger, so keep that in mind if you need to plug into a small space, but they're simple to use and don't require soldering or de-soldering. If you make a faulty wiring connection, solder it.
This was a huge success.
These cable ends were ideal for the custom cable length I required. make. The ease with which the wires terminate and the sturdiness with which the housing closes are both outstanding. It also helped that it had a slim body, as not all laptops have a lot of space around the db9 plug. I would purchase this item again.
