I have a 2017 Ram 1500 pick-up and this works very well. Volkswagens use some sort of mount that I have no idea about.

What if the 2014 Dodge Charger is involved?

It can be used with any vehicle that comes with a factory tri-pod mount Anatomical mounting of the lobe. The chargers we have require the use of the adaptor, as evidenced by the fitment note.

There is only one adaptation that can be used in the - the mirror mount that twists off

It is an excellent adapter, since the twist off mirror mount in the Ram limits the mirror you can use to replace your OEM mirror, but this simple adapter is effective and secure enough to replace the OEM mirror.
