Mount. Period. Wow. Just wow. It's built to last! Installed in a 2013 Toyota Tacoma, and sat on this ram mount is an HP840G1 with an extended battery (pretty heavy with the extended battery). When the truck is navigating my urban battleground, there is very little shaking from the entire unit. Because it's so sturdy, I'm planning to add a few more accessories to it. Want to switch to a tablet? Proud to buy a product made in America! No problem; simply replace the tough tray with an x-shaped tray. grip (which I'm sure I'd do on a rough excursion). The mounting components are guaranteed for the rest of their lives for the rest of their lives It is impossible to make a mistake. When it comes to safety, I'm confident that this mount will stay put in the event of an accident (though I'm not so sure about the laptop!). I wish RAM had included the 'flat' mount retainer clips with this so you could fully close your laptop while driving, but they were an extra $13, so it's not a deal breaker. The mount makes the passenger's legs 'tighter,' but not to the point where the seat becomes unusable. Great product!.
This is a solid mount, and I had no trouble finding the perfect position for my laptop after watching the YouTube instructions. My only piece of advice is to watch the instructions on YouTube before putting it together. It will be delivered in several pieces, and there will be no single set of instructions for the entire assembly process. I tried to guess how it went together and got it backwards, but I later discovered the YouTube video, which was much clearer.
My copy was not for me, so I returned it. It takes up an excessive amount of passenger space. For my needs, it's way too big. The laptop tray is ridiculously large and loud. br>br>Seems like a great option for truckers or people who don't use the passenger seat very often. The build quality is excellent. The apocalypse would not be a problem for this thing. Toyota 4Runner (2017 model). I wish there was a 'light' option that was more suited to the average guy or gal.
It's no different with this item. Only a 14mm wrench was needed to remove the front two passenger seat bolts (which you then re-installed). use). If you need to carry a passenger, the actual computer tray and arm can be easily removed. I'm a traveling businessperson, and it makes it very easy to access and work on my computer on short notice; I'm not sure how I ever managed without it! I give it a 4 out of 5 star rating (the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because the black paint on the base is too easy to knock off).
If you're on the fence about getting one of these, go ahead and get one. The best truck purchase I've ever made. Will turn your idea into a fully functional mobile workstation. A passenger can sit normally in the seat if the mount is pulled out. It took about 30 minutes to install in a 2013 Tacoma.
The structure is sturdy. The quick detach mount is a must-have, and you'll save even more money if you buy it on sale.
I'm using a 17-inch Samsung chronos touchscreen slim pc, which isn't a good match for this item due to the platform's limited adjustability.
At the base, modifications are required to fit the 2015 4Runner Trd pro. Aside from that, it's a well-made and sturdy product.
