As a Windows Vista user, I needed to upgrade after using laggy OS for so long. The moment possible. The PC is fast and I haven't had any problems installing it or anything on it ( so far). *
I read some of the reviews and found out that one gave it a bad rating because there was no CD and DVD-ROM Your unfairness is evident in the way you deal with the CD-ROM drive. In today's world, most new computers you get will no longer be bundled with a CD/DVD since they do not need them to install the operating system. Therefore, you may want to update your systems. The new method of installing any program is to use a USB port instead of a CD. As a result, if you must have a ROM drive, you can fix this by just buying a portable one, such as the one I bought off of Amazon. Despite being around $20, they aren't expensive. I have also been able to play CDs with the one I have. This is a great PC, despite the fact that it does not have a ROM drive. It is a simple and sleek design, and it's easy to use. Now that my computer is very fast and more up-to-date, I'm so glad to have it.

In order to use this computer, I must have a 12-year-old who is at home The year is Since it was the only one under $500 that did not state that it couldn't handle games or graphics, it was a perfect fit for my 12-year-old grandson. In spite of my skepticism, I decided to take a chance on my young gamer for the price. Our experience so far after nearly three months of using the software is nothing short of excellent. As far as I know, my grandson has not complained about the computer being too slow or not loading the games he likes or having problems doing school work or studying on it. If I buy my 10-inch tablet now, I might be able to The year is I still have not found a cheap computer that can handle today's graphics and games suited for my grandson, who is nine years old.

The price (which fluctuates, I paid $331) makes this a good computer for business purposes, casual gaming, and entertainment. As soon as I upgraded the memory to 16GB dual channel, it performed like a rockstar for all of my work from home needs. Let's get to the bad stuff. This is not intended for any game more graphics intensive than vanilla Minecraft or Civilization, and I repeat NOT suitable for such games. Low-resolution versions of some older games (such as GTA V and Skyrim LE) are playable. There is no space on the 180W power supply to accommodate a dedicated graphics card first, you must upgrade the power supply (see below), which has proven to be a herculean task due to the proprietary nature of the components and HP's lack of knowledge or interest. As a result, if you want to play any games, this is not the right machine. Two minor points it does NOT have a DVD drive a separate one will have to be purchased. In the last four days, I have spent the past FOUR days corresponding with HP customer support & I am still waiting for a new gaming desktop for my son to be delivered. A technical support representative was trying to look up a part number I have asked for the price for a power supply upgrade that will work with the proprietary motherboard in this thing, and I have yet to hear anything back. For the GPU to be pulled from the old system and installed in the new system, a power supply upgrade has to be done. I think that the fact that I still cannot get an answer after 4 days says a lot about the support. *<extra_id_18>* However, if you're not gaming then it's not as important to you. This will be enough for you, you do not need the dvd.

It is anemic, however it represents a good value (considering the pandemic shortage of electronics) for anyone who needs a PC for office work or for use as a basic home theater PC. As I predicted, the Pentium Gold G6400 cpu performs far worse than I expected, scoring around 400 single threads and 1200 multi-threaded There are threads. A 2014 vintage Athlon A10-based PC with the same specs The 6790k on my previous PC scored about 265 single points and 860 multipoints. It's a common tendency for OEM PC manufacturers to install crapware on their machines. Among the HP-related options are a variety of useless ones Additionally, this PC was infected with branded crapware (which is not needed), and was also installed with Amazon and Netflix, Simple Solitaire, and Wildtangent. Other programs include Dropbox, ExpressVPN, McAfee security suite (which requires payment to update, and therefore useless), Office promo (not the program itself, but links to buy), and Netflix. In total, there are 4 expansion slots on the case, but there are only 2 on the mainboard. There was no longer a need for the BIOS The next update will be dated July 2020) but a new bios was found on the HP website (the HP update software did not A review of bios of this date shows that F was the latest. In the moment, I think it is a "fair" value *if* you catch it on sale (which is what I did on I would not recommend this to anyone into gaming or in need of high quality video.
