It is not normal for a new product to be rusted, since it's brand new. I found the ones I bought to be in excellent condition. There was no rust or damage. It's OK to clean them out until the replacement arrives if you don't want to wait for it. If you have rust in your loop, you do not want to have it be carried through as particles.
you can mix aluminum and copper cores. However, you can't use aluminum and copper cores at the same time. In general, as long as your components all have vinyl, plastic, copper, or brass, you are good to go.
You do not receive any caps with it.

One was used for a drain loop, while the other was used for a combo 90* fitting and temperature sensor all in one. I really like the look of the unit, and I am impressed with the construction and installation in general. In the end they are just metal parts, but the skillful machine work for the threads and the finish make the installation process as easy as possible. Titan Rig is a great company and I will continue to purchase their products.
The fitting from this company was used when a fitting from another company failed, and it saved my day, since I would have had a leak if it hadn't.
It has so far been a good work. These brass pieces are painted and made of brass. As you can see on the inside of the connector, the paint is not as thick as it used to be. We will see if some paint comes off the threads so that we can see if there's any affect on future displays.
I love how well this part works and looks. I was disappointed to find the ek logo was missing from the splitter when I first got it. It had only been a while since I noticed it, I was initially oblivious to the sticker. Added a comment reflecting my stupidity in the review.
As soon as I got it, I had to put the logo on. The one star was taken off because of the overcharge. Drain ports are used for this purpose.
Quite disappointed with the outcome.
The shirt is a t-shirt from EK Adding a drain or fill, or whatever you need, works well with a splitter.
Although expensive, it looks good and is quite useful as well. This is one of my favorite EKWBs, and the design is perfect. Scuffs can cause damage, so be careful.
