When I set it down, the contacts get bumped and don't make proper contact; however, I'm very careful when laying on the desk to charge, and this hasn't happened in months. I use my Fitbit for exercise, yardwork, and just about everything else, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I've had my contacts for 7 years and they've never been harmed by dirt. I'd use a q-tip if they were filthy or clogged. Isopropyl alcohol is a good tip for cleaning them gently. You may have a bad cable if the contacts appear to be properly aligned and clean. That happened to me once when I was using an iPad cable. It looked nice, but it only worked occasionally depending on how I twisted it. Best wishes to you.

It's good value for money and it gets the job done. Fitbit's official accessories are a pain to use. Whether it's the bands or the charging cable, they've got it covered. If an OEM product can go bad in a year, don't expect this to last indefinitely at this price. br>br>This cable is flexible, and the magnets are good. They aren't quite as strong as the original cable, but they aren't bad. Moisture in the bathroom helps to build up residue around the pins, rendering it useless, as it did with the Fitbit's original charging cable. If you have to use it in the bathroom, make sure the pins do not get wet. br>br>If you're cleaning the residue around the charging pins with a sharp object, be careful not to press down too hard on the charging pins, as they may become stuck and not connect to your watch.
The Fitbit Ionic and these cables go together perfectly. I tried charging with one of the two cables included in the package, and it worked fine. These are a good value due to their low price. The cable is slightly thicker and heavier than the one that came with the ionic. Because the magnets that hold this cable to the Ionic are a little weaker than the original cable, I gave it a one-star rating. It's not a problem as long as I'm careful about how I place the Ionic on the desk while charging, but the original has powerful magnets that can pick up the cable and swing the Ionic around.
I would strongly advise anyone in need of these to get them. I misplaced the original charging cable, but I now have two: one for at home and one for traveling. Unfortunately, my Amazon key storage area is in my garage, and when my wife drove into the garage, she ran over them, flattening the USB connections on both cables slightly. Fortunately, I was able to bend them back into shape so that they could be used. So that doesn't happen again, I need to relocate the Amazon key drop area. But oh well.
This set was purchased because I needed another cable to take to work (in my computer bag). The value for money is fantastic. It appears to be effective in terms of charging. The magnets were the only thing that other people had to say about it. They don't have the same power as the original cable. That is exactly what I discovered, and it is the only reason for the 1-star rating. Look down. You must ensure that the device does not move around while connected, or the connection will be lost. It shouldn't be a big deal if you're careful. I'd buy it again if I had the opportunity.
So, after plugging in the charger, my watch would work normally, but the screen would flicker, as if it was connecting and disconnecting back and forth. I cleaned the connection points and gave it another shot. My watch was bricked after I left it to charge for 30 minutes. It is completely unresponsive and will not turn on. It could just be a fluke, but my other charger didn't have the same problem.

I wasn't sure if this CAVN charger would work at all, but it did. In addition, the cost of two of them is very reasonable. I'm not going to buy another charger from F ever again.
