The factory head unit of my 3rd gen Tacoma truck was kept, and the amp and sub were added. then through the kick panel and under the rubber door jam protector, and finally into the amplifier under the driver's seat. In addition, there was still enough wire to go back from the amp under the carpet into the center console, then along the console to the radio for the output from the amp to the factory speakers. I used a plug-in factory harness to connect to a Metra factory harness The solution is to play. I love the sound and how it works! One thing that would make this speed wire better would be if the outer rubber casing could be peeled back easier like some other speed wire manufacturers do, but that is a minor inconvenience.

There is no difference between what is described and what is received. There is a flexible outer layer of 4 gauge wire and a 18 gauge 9 wire within the insulated wire. A great way to run wires to a convertor that only has audio control lines. I own both and can barely tell the difference between this wire and stinger 9 wire. I have owned both and can barely tell the difference between the two. There is a remote turn on lead to attach to an aftermarket radio, as well as all the wires are color-coded to match the factory wires. You can use a quality font if you are using one. Auto sensing will provide all the information you need, so you won't have to use this.
After I ran out of the Speedwire I ordered from Crutchfield, I ordered this. Following my first attempt at stripping a few ends, I noticed it looked much thinner, so I measured and cut equal lengths of each brand and removed all of the insultation. A wire manufactured from this wire has a total diameter and stiffness that are larger and greater than Crutchfield Speedwire, containing 30% less metal. In addition to that, it also represents about 60% of the cost, which is why I didn't give it a lower star rating. This wire is good enough for the price, but if you're looking for something with a true 18AWG gauge, this may not be quite right.
Due to its sheerness and thickness, this product offers excellent value for money.
