Yes, break in your subs at low power for a few hours before attempting to throw full power at them; if you don't break them in properly, dependability and durability will be compromised. That was something I learned the hard way with some very expensive JL's. And I just got some Scar Audio gear and I love it, but I'm not sure if my amp will work with my sub, so I'm just going to break it in first, then C, and hopefully someone here can assist me.
Yes, but keep in mind that you must be careful with your words.
Yes. However, don't go over the rms limit.
You won't be able to use them to their full potential.

Before you go out and buy something, read it. This sub was purchased to replace two IX-series subs that had worn out. I had 12s in my truck to save trunk space while still handling the full power that my amp could deliver, but I was disappointed when I first installed it because it sounded rather quiet and lackluster compared to a single IX-100. There are a total of 12 people in the same space. Keep in mind that the enclosure I'm using for the sub is built to Skar's exact specifications, and it requires a lot of power to move, to the point where my voltage was sagging worse than it had been with my previous system. I was about to return it when I remembered that Amazon does not accept returns on magnetic items. Thankfully, Amazon's customer service is outstanding, and they took excellent care of me. For the money, I'd recommend the SDR series, which is at the lower end of their product line. This SVR woofer appears to be more suited to competition setups and is heavily SPL biased. What I mean is that it has a limited range of fidelity and requires a lot of power to get your money's worth. I'm an IX-type of person. This woofer sounds significantly better and is less peaky than an 8 woofer in a ported enclosure. The IX- is given less power. 8 too. br>br>In conclusion, if you require a substitute for a non-emergency situation, Look no further for everyday use that slams with its rated power. Look into getting something else if you're like me and want a nice sounding (but loud when you want to bump) sub for your everyday driver. Personally, I think I'll give the SDR a shot. Get two or three IX-compatible enclosures for a total of ten preloaded enclosures. 8s and make a ported enclosure from scratch.
I've only had it for a day, but it's much more powerful than my Sundown 12, which was 500 watts; this is 800 watts, and yes, I notice a significant improvement. However, I am hoping it will last as long as my sunset.
Review has been updated: br>I've been using this sub in my daily routine for over two years and it's still going strong. So, based on other buyer's reviews claiming that this sub won't last, I'd say it's most likely due to poor installation, being driven too hard, or not properly caring for the equipment. If you're going to spend the money on something like this, do it right the first time. Initial thoughts: br>br> br>I have a single sub setup and it hits hard at 1 ohm. I upgraded my power supply to ensure that the amp (Skar 1500) received consistent power. d). I'm planning to upgrade to a better box in the near future. But, for the time being, I'm really enjoying it, and I'm a big fan of Skar!.
I'll give you a month if you'll give me a month. a second backup battery I'm scuffing up your grandmother's fine china! Thanks to Skar, who now manufactures 609 subwoofers, we can enjoy bass in the back deck as well. Rockville is a fantastic example, and I've already placed an order for some. When your models become available, I'd be happy to swap them out.
Since I had previously owned a ddx10, I decided to give the svr 12 a try. br>br>When I took this guy out of the box, I was surprised at how small he was (I had expected him to be larger). Another difference I noticed is that the build quality isn't quite as good as the ddx. Overall, the sound quality of this sub is quite good, with a clear midrange, a good low end, and a fat bass. However, if I had to choose again, I would go with the DDX because it is a much better sub for the money.
I had this speaker hooked up to a 1200 for two months. In just two months, the 1D amp fried the voice coil. The product has passed the return window, and I'm unable to contact SKAR for warranty information. This speaker was a complete waste of money.
I used the box from a Kicker single 12 set up, it was the sub and the box, but my planet audio nearly killed the 500 rms kicker, so I replaced it with this sub and I'm happy with it. Due to a lack of space, I am unable to use a larger box.
Because of my musical tastes, they were all fried. Even the letter P. After listening to Ludacris' Blueberry Yum Yum, bazookas from the MILLER series smoked. Skar has withstood the rigors of extreme heavy metal. Bass, deep bass drops, and me pushing myself to new heights. You will be more than satisfied if you match your amp ohms as closely as possible to your speaker ohms.
