Since I've kicked it a few times and gear has slid into it, my bare Hertz has been causing me concern for years. So far, there hasn't been any damage, and I consider myself fortunate. A grill for the Hertz is IMPOSSIBLE to come by! Even from their own website, I'm not sure they exist! So, a year ago, I bought a 'universal grill,' and it was terrible. It was too shallow to fit over the cone, and it was made of plastic that didn't appear to be strong enough to withstand a boot kick or a speaker stand crashing into it. It's completely useless. br>br>So, since the Fosgate is custom-made, I decided to go ahead and buy the 12" Fosgate for my 10" sub. The Fosgate was designed specifically for it. I reasoned that the 12" might just fit OVER the entire Hertz setup. And I was fortunate in that I was correct! It was a perfect fit, and it's a solid piece of equipment! It's made of metal and has nice small holes, so even small objects won't be able to get through. Nothing will be able to harm my submarine at this point. I simply used a few of the honeycomb holes to insert four wood screws, and it was finished. The sides of the sub enclosure box protruded slightly, so I simply rounded the sharp edges with a hammer so they wouldn't snag anything, including myself! I wish I had tried this when I first saw it two years ago; in my opinion, it works as a "universal grill" if you go up one size. Thanks, Fosgate.
This is a must-have item that will save your Subwoofer. This is an absolute must. If you have a subwoofer box and a P2 or P3 Punch, this is something you should consider. It's slim and secure, and it keeps the submarine safe. With this turned on, I don't have to be concerned about my subwoofer having company in the back seat. It's lovely, and it actually caves in, which looks great; however, please read the instructions carefully, as it only fits the models listed, and the mounting spaces may not line up if you buy it for something else. The P3 Punch, by the way, is a fantastic subwoofer for keeping this cage company.
The value of Fosgate is unbeatable. The price point they're targeting simply doesn't allow for the grille to be included. If you're wondering whether or not the grille is truly "worth it," I'd say yes. It's incredibly sturdy, will provide excellent protection for your sub, and is also quite attractive. Splurge on the grille, and you'll be glad you did.
You must read the instructions carefully because I required two but only received one. Then I went back and read it again, and it expressly states that one is included. It's a little on the pricey side for one, but it works, does the job, and fits. I had to place a second order, as well.
I needed this grill to protect the woofer from being damaged because there is a lot going on in and around the sub enclosure that freaked me out. It's simple to put together and it works. Now I can sleep soundly knowing that whatever happens next to it will not harm it. Lol.
These grills look great on my subs, and they're nice and thick. They are a dark black, and the picture used to sell them does not do them justice. This product appeals to me because I am confident that it will safeguard my investment. It was well worth the money! They also arrived two days earlier than expected.
It was made clear that there was only one grill included, not two. I was very disappointed to receive only one for my dual 12's. I would not have ordered if I had known the price was so high for just one grill. br>Also, the grill did not fit my subs; it is the correct size, but the outside ring that secures the grill does not fit through the grille for proper attachment.
Make use of this to keep your sub safe. It's well worth the money for the added insurance, and I don't have to worry about throwing things in my trunk now that it's installed. It's a sturdy grill that doesn't get in the way of my sub's operation. It comes highly recommended because of the security it provides.
