Questions & Answers

I was making a comparison between the p300 and the p400. The dimensions are different from the one listed on Crutchfield at 12T. Is there a new version of this?

It's the same sub, I believe. Crutchfield lists the P300-S with incorrect dimensions. 12T. It is 25. The correct measurements are 8" wide, as stated on Amazon. I got mine the other day, and I was relieved to see that Amazon had the right measurements. The price on Amazon is also significantly lower.

So this is my first time getting a sub, and it's all in one, which is nice. What do I need specifically, since I already have the wiring kit (8 gauge) and the RCA adapter?

From the sub's ground input to your vehicle chassis, you'll need a solid copper ground wire with at least the same AWG as the power wire (it appears you're using 8 AWG). Check the ground point with a multimeter to ensure it is in good working order. To create a solid ground to the chassis, you may need to remove some paint from a metal surface. br>br>Connect the battery to the sub with the power cable. This run should be protected by a 75-amp fuse. The fuse should be connected closer to the battery than the sub. br>br>Connect the amp turn on of the sub input to a separate, very thin gauge wire (such as 18). Because this wire controls power to the sub, you don't want it to be on all of the time because it will drain your battery. Because the car automatically turns off power to the antenna, you can connect your car's antenna 12v to this sub turn on, for example. br>br>For the RCA, you can use a LOC to connect it to some existing speakers or connect it directly to your head unit (stereo). br>br>In my Mustang, I used a LOC to connect the sub to the trunk speakers. Because my antenna turn on wire is also conveniently located in my trunk, I wired the sub turn on wire directly to it.

Is there a way to use this without adjusting the bass?

Yes, you can use this sub without the remote bass adjustment knob if you want to. I would strongly advise connecting the bass adjust knob, as most songs require different levels of bass. Some songs have a lot of power, while others could use a little more bass. It's almost as if there's a separate volume control for the extra bass this sub provides. This sub has a lot of kick to it. You can turn it up loud and shake the whole car, or you can just add enough bass to make it sound realistic. It's also a breeze to set up. I hope this has been of assistance.

Will this fit behind a Tacoma double cab from the second generation without removing the plastic compartment?

I've never owned a Toyota, so I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure it'll fit under the back seat of a 2013 Ford F150.

Selected User Reviews For Rockford Fosgate P300-12T Punch 12" 300 Watt Powered Truck Sealed Box Subwoofer

It was a perfect fit in my 2019 Ford F150
4/5

This box is ideal for any truck owner due to its smaller size. This fit perfectly under the drivers side rear seat of my 2019 F150 Supercrew, and it doesn't obstruct the factory storage space. Although the box protrudes slightly from beneath the seat, it does not obstruct foot space. The ability to unplug the wire harness and completely remove the box for more cargo space is a nice bonus. In terms of audio quality, it's adequate, not exceptional. At higher volume levels, it was more "punchy" than droning, but it added the bass I needed at normal listening levels. Because of the space constraints that come with trucks, the all-in-one package, and the low price, I would strongly recommend this to any truck owner looking for a more budget-friendly option. In a smaller SUV, such as a CR-V, this would probably work well. V, but it doesn't seem like a good trunk option for a car to me.

A fantastically powerful sub
5/5

Fantastic subwoofer with a lot of power! It was simple to set up. Connect the power and ground wires, as well as the remote wire and RCAs, or tap into your speakers' wires. I put it under the back seat of my 2015 Ford F150 XLT crew cab. This is a good match. It sticks out about an inch and a half, but it doesn't obstruct leg or foot space. The sub, on the other hand, is a hit. It's not earth-shattering or window-shattering, but it sounds good, which is exactly what I wanted. I do not want to be deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafening And one of the things I like about the sub is that if I need more space in the back, I can simply unplug the wires and take the sub out. It's far too simple. I have no complaints as of now.

Despite its diminutive size, it is a force to be reckoned with
5/5

I just installed this in the back of my 14' jetta selbr>The knob is the best thing ever most cars don't come with one (the only drawback is having to remember to turn it off before leaving the car but hey with no audio it's pretty obvious if it's still on)br>I got a few quotes from audio shops to buy and install it and they were all charging 700-800 dollars. There are more than 900 pieces! br>For any audio heads, buy the sub online after installation (would have done it myself except I prefer working on older cars haha) I only paid 440 total an absolute steal of a deal for such amazing bassbr>br>Not to mention its size! When I say this thing is small but mighty, I mean it's thinner than my roadside kit the best part? Audio systems in the three thousand dollar range.

People, it's fosgate
5/5

It hits! Installed on a Silverado from the year 2010. Install is simple and straightforward. Since I had to run rca cables anyway, I used the remote wire for on/off. Never bothered to read the instructions; all you need is power, ground, RCA, a remote, and bass control. My truck cab sounds a lot more alive with the sub! It's exactly what I was looking for, and it came at a reasonable price. The unit's longevity will be determined over time, but I'm not expecting it to blow out my windows, so I believe it will.

Big booms, compact and powerful
5/5

Wow, that was a big one. br>br>In my Ford F150 Supercrew, I replaced a 10 inch compact sub with this 12. I strapped the sub vertically to the 20% rear seat on the passenger side so I lose zero floor space in the truck cab cab cab cab cab cab cab cab cab cab cab cab% The sub box is just a smidgeon narrower than the seat, so it fits perfectly floating vertically against the folded-back seat. up seat. Very effective. br>br> br>br>Make sure you use a big fat Copper power wire running from the battery. My wife is envious of the audio in my F150, despite her Mercedes having 15 speakers. I used OFC in the size of 2 gauge. Also, make sure your ground cable is the same diameter as your power cable and that it is kept short. br>br>P. The power and ground inputs on the subwoofer only accept wire with a maximum diameter of 4ga, which was a problem because I was using 2ga.

BOOM! Feel it! This 12" powered sub was purchased to complete the installation of a new Kenwood deck and door speakers
5/5

When listening to music, the extra bass is AMAZING. It was the same price as the 10" at the time, so I'm glad I went with the larger size. In my 2008 Tundra Crewmax, it fits behind the seat. The Boss amplifier wire kit, which included power, grounding, and RCA wires, made installation a breeze. The sub's gain can be adjusted while you're in the driver's seat, depending on what you're listening to and how much vibration you want to feel.

It's a fantastic sub with a small footprint
5/5

It's like night and day when I put this on my 22' pontoon. It is EXACTLY what I was looking for in a musical instrument. The sealed design and built-in crossover allow you to fine-tune the sound to give the right amount of punch for music without being boomy or obnoxious. Bass that is extremely punchy, tight, and responsive. When I'm swimming, I can feel it! There is no distortion, even at high volumes, and there are no rattles; it's just pure tight deep bass. And, for under $200, it's super compact and easy to install! I can attest to the fact that the auto-on/off feature is also very useful. I only had to mount the sub in my 12v battery compartment, connect power, and then run line out from the head unit, which saved me a lot of time. It turns on automatically when the radio is turned on and turns off quickly when the signal fades away to avoid phantom power consumption. There's no need to use a remote switch to turn the lights on. Awesome!.

It's a good one! I installed this in my 2017 Volt, and I like that there is no need to run a remote turn-on wire because the amp has a switch that turns it on when it detects music
5/5

I used an adapter to convert my speaker wires to RCAs, and then the box went from RCA to a quick connect plug. The power and ground are also on quick connects, making it simple to remove the whole thing if you need more space. This thing hits even if the gain is set to the bare minimum. This is an excellent purchase.
