Because my design is a portable Christmas layout; I wanted something that was simple to wire and connect/reconnect - There's plenty in the bag for my other layouts or projects, so these are ideal.
I bought 60 of them to use as quick connect power injection for a largeish led installation I'm working on. They appeared to be in perfect condition at first glance, but after 30 minutes in line (6ft 18ga run from a 12v power supply to ws2815), I noticed the brightness had decreased. When I looked closer, I noticed that the pair had melted to each other, and that after replacement, a new pair had heated up and was melting. Crimps, on the other hand, were very effective. I'm coming back.
Except for one flaw, these connectors work well. It could be my fault, but when I tightened the screws at the wire terminals, they didn't hold the wire in place very well. I had to tighten the screw and/or re-tighten it several times. I had to strip the wire and re-insert it several times before I got a good, tight connection. It could have been the wire I was using, or it could have been something else entirely. That was my experience, at any rate.
This is extremely beneficial. They've been used as end connectors on emergency and flood lighting LED light bars in automobiles. The possibilities are endless, and converting them to battery power is incredible. I'd buy it again and highly recommend it!.
The wires can easily pull out of the terminals, so use a little solder or just make sure your projects aren't under any strain when wiring them up. However, I'm looking for a ten-pack of only females! There are already a lot of adapters on hand.
