Questions & Answers

At 5 volts and 12 volts, what is the maximum amperage?

If you're using more than 1 or 2 amps, you're probably not using it for what it was designed for. The better question is, what would be a safe amperage if I used a xx gauge wire with dc or ac at such voltage? You never want to run the maximum amperage.

Will this work with a prizm 7" LCD power supply that runs at 12V 2 amps?

I attempted to locate the specifications for your item, but they appear to be a closely guarded secret: On Amazon, the photo appears to be a typical barrel. Within the given voltage range, both the plug and the actual connectors (that is, the metal parts) are standard. As Mauran Snow had mentioned, each received a rating. So, just in terms of power, these will handle 12V and 2Amps reliably, and they appear to handle up to 3Amps very well. So, in terms of power alone, they're within your stated parameters. The *metal* components, on the other hand - the genuine metal plug-in components for and-jack - should be appropriate.
- Manufacturers, on the other hand, try to force you to buy replacement parts from them and them alone in terms of physical size - I have a fan, for example, on which the fan-speed is set to high. One of these (or any other) standard 12V plugs will not fit in the casing around the jack. In any similar situation, careful trimming is probably the best solution. Using a very sharp knife, razor, or X-acto knife, cut down the replacement item ((the new connector)). acto - I did give my X-ray a shot. Wood Acto - Curved blade carving handle (heavier and larger blades than the "regular" X-blade carving handle) acto) and discovered that the following connectors - or, at the very least, the ones I have in my bag. Trim the size down by using a black plastic that is relatively easy to cut, especially if you make repeated smooth, shallow cuts. able. Just be careful, and work on a steady, hard surface if possible, as well as wearing cut-resistant clothing. gloves that are tough
- Finally, I have no idea what size plug your equipment has and haven't been able to locate any specifications. So everything I've said thus far is simply my best guess based on what I've done. It's best to get in touch with the business and inquire about the plug size and other details.
- A pack of ten pairs may appear to be insufficient until one begins tinkering with parts salvaged from items that would otherwise be discarded.

Are these 12 volt connectors suitable for repairing a 9 volt power supply?

These are intended for use with cctv cameras, but they can be used for anything that requires less than 12 volts of DC power. Your question is unclear as to what you were attempting to achieve.

Is 2. 1x5. Isn't a 5mm DC adapter the most common?

The electrical contact between the male and female connectors on the product was poor. br> I didn't use them in the end. I will not be placing another order.

New type plugs are NOT better, and they are not as pictured
3/5

The wire receptor is shown in the main product photo as having a ribbed and open slot. A smooth plate and a spring clip must be pushed out of the way by the wire in the parts I received. For a comparison, look at my photo. I'm looking for the old-fashioned kind! They're designed for small gauge stranded wire, which these aren't. Every company appears to be using the same factory and producing the same garbage. Is there anywhere I can get a hold of the old model? The Chanzon part I finally decided on is B079RBL339, which you can find at Item B079RBL339 on Amazon.

Many sellers sell the same item, and I've seen minor variations, so there must be several manufacturers
4/5

The small cinch screws can be used with either a small Phillips or slotted screwdriver, and they work well and were the cheapest I could find at the time. A slotted screwdriver works best for me because it grips the screw head more securely. br>br>These are temporary connections that I use to test light strips before and during installation. I'm not a fan of clips and plug connectors for permanent installations because they can be intermittent and almost always fail at some point, causing you to search for the bad connection (which is simple to fix once you find it). Because this is a problem, I prefer soldering all connections. It is both free and permanent. br>br>Some light strips come with a plug already installed. All you have to do now is plug it in to a power source to check the color of the light and look for any broken LEDs. It's not a problem if there isn't a plug - To test, simply install one of these plugs on a temporary basis. The same can be said for power sources. Simply make a simple test splice with a male and female connector and two short lengths of wire, then cut one of the wires in the center and connect in series to a multimeter set to test amps. Despite the fact that I solder all connections, I do use a male/female connection between the power source and the light strips so that I can easily insert my test splice to check voltage and amps if necessary in the future. br>br>Everything I've said applies to both CCTV and LED light strips, as well as any other 12 VDC application.

When the item arrived, I checked it for continuity and shorting. Only one male connector (negative terminal not connected to barrel) had a continuity problem out of ten pairs. Overall, what do you expect for such a low price? I haven't tested them for current load yet because I just got them. I have a feeling they won't perform at the stated amperage because of the shoddy quality control. Nonetheless, I intend to use the current at a minimum load ( 5A or 5B I'd test each one with a multimeter or continuity tester before using it to save time troubleshooting your device after installation (especially if you're going to use it in a hard-to-reach location). According to other reviews, you should buy a little more than you need because a certain percentage will be defective. Anyway, 19 of the 20 pieces (9 of the 10 pairs) were satisfactory for my purposes. Given how cheap these are, I think it's a fair bet. What do you expect for such a low price for such a low quality product?.

I made a solar-powered lamp out of it
5/5

It's a great product that's simple to set up and does its job. Normally, it's used to connect and interrupt CCTV systems, but I used it to connect and interrupt a solar power lamp. In the stairwell, I have two lamps, one without an interruptor that works for up to 10 hours since dawn and the other, which I installed, that I connect once the other is turned off. Because the lamp's solar panel is on the roof of our house (and I can't reach the switch on the back of the solar panel to turn it on or off), I needed an accessible interruptor, which I found. I tried to install an inline switch, but it was extremely difficult because the line is very narrow and only has black and red wires inside, and when I tried to peel the red and black wires to uncover the copper and then pull the covers off, I was almost out of copper to finish the installation safely and permanently. This product has two inlets for the red wire: one marked with a positive sign (which I used) and another marked with a negative sign (-). I used this to connect the black wires in both terminals. They're held in place by small screws that I repositioned. The lamp is exactly how I imagined it would be! I am a big fan of solar energy, but a solar system for the house, which includes 13 solar panels and a Tesla battery, among other things, costs around $25,000. We already have a solar water heater, a gas stove, a gas clothes dryer, LED lights, four inverter air conditioners, and energy-efficient refrigerator, microwave, and washing machine that we purchased years ago before solar powered systems were available for domestic use.

This is an excellent product
3/5

a lack of quality control This is a good product in general, but I believe the quality control could be improved. One of the ten male connectors was defective, with the wire securing mechanism failing to function. Two of the ten female connectors were defective, with the wire securing mechanism failing to function. I would have returned them if I hadn't been in a hurry to finish my work and needed to use the majority of them. I'm glad I ordered a little more than I needed. If you're going to buy this product, I recommend getting a few extras.

If you follow the steps correctly, these will work fine
4/5

If you don't overstretch the wires, they should work fine. When you push stranded wires in, backing out the screws to open up the wire ports helps keep them from fraying. Second, when you tighten the screws, the first part takes up slack, then it gets harder as the contact inside starts to compress, but you're still not tightening it up against the wires, so it becomes more difficult to turn; Continue to tighten the connection until it is completely secure. After that, and only then, is the assembly complete. If you want to be extra sure that the wire won't come out, dab a small amount of super glue where the wires go in. This will make the connection permanent. Which is fine; the adapters are inexpensive, and if you mess up, you can get five male/female pairs delivered for around $7 or $8.
