Questions & Answers

What is the compatibility between this and ?

I believe it is compatible with the Nikon D3300. Once mounted using the standard 1/4 screw, it will work.

Is it easy to install this on my existing My Geekoto is well made, but I am afraid of the weight of both in combination with my portable heater. ?

A sturdy tripod is definitely made from this material. A problem I have is that the base size is quite large compared to the height. The connection between the tripod and the computer. The rocking in my chest is getting a little worse

Can this be used as ?

In this case, it's a tripod ball head with a gimbal for a large lens. It works manually, not as an electrical In addition to the weight of 1, this item measures If your tripod weighs 35kg, you should attach it to a sturdy one.

Do you think a monopod can handle this?

There were two of them in my shopping cart. A tripod for my camera. My monopod will go on the other one. That works great. If you want me to add a photo, I am happy to do so.

It's okay with the materials, but not with the design

The first time I tried to find a gimbal head at an affordable price, but it failed. The pros are I-n- d -Effective - Inexpensive* I had no issues with the materials (they are sturdy)-- The 3/8"-thick hose comes with it. The following cons are associated with 1" bushing/adapter I-n- d The tilt knob is loosened, and a gap appears between the arm and frame, causing the arm to "slam" and no longer be
- When you tighten the tilt knob, the gap is gone, but you can no longer tilt. A lot of tilt knob loosened in any direction will cause tilt to be stuck (but then you will have gapping The pan appears to be not too bad, but there is some sticking* - They're a bit sharp around the edges. The knob used to open and close the Arca-type devices An example of a clamp stick.

You do not need a smooth and precise gimbal if you need it smooth and precise
3/5

It is a pretty inexpensive head for a second shooter who is fairly inexperienced to use on a monopod or tripod without having to worry about a gripped body and fairly heavy 70-200mm lens If you are not holding this camera, the 200mm will nosedive when it is unbalanced on a ball head,

This is not the perfectly smooth, "floating" gimbal you would get for $600 - $700. There's no way to know for sure, so don't worry about As I mentioned, I kept it and have let the second shooter use it a couple of times. Since we're shooting something that is coming nearly straight at us, we need stability and smooth panning. We don't need very much tilt adjustment, however. The lens does not have a registration pin to guard against the lens unscrewing the attachment screw when the camera is moved. Thanks to some thread lock and a big screwdriver, I've pretty much taken care of it. • The security of the plate within the receiver needs to be checked and tightened periodically during a shoot and it's not as easy to mount as other "ark" combinations I've used in the past. It feels smooth and solid and operates smoothly, however, for someone expecting smooth and silky operation, the tilt would be an issue. It does not seem like any bearings or bushings are in place In the case of the tilt knob, letting it go will merely result in the arm sagging and binding. The chart does not provide anything you could use to follow the BIF or to follow the active up-down and back-and-forth movement. The tilt function probably has enough friction that you can achieve something that is close to balance, but you cannot be certain since there is so much friction involved. A loosened clamp is a more stable clamp. The software does exactly what I expected it would do, and for my intended use for the two or three times per year that someone else will use it, it works fine.

The quality of the product is determined by the price! I think the price is quite reasonable

When I have the battery pack on my Nikon d500, it fits very tightly. It is not very sturdy in the tilt position. Despite having a very small battery pack for my Nikon D500, it fits very tight. The Quick Shoe lock knob can come undone, and the camera can fall off if you don't pay attention to it. In the event that you lose a part and try to replace it, I wish you the best of luck! It would appear that I have been searching for a replacement Quick Shoe 1/4 screw joint for some time. There are none to be found. For now, it's nothing more than a door stopper. Let me know if you know how to order one.

This product provides solid value for the money
5/5

It is very impressive. My setup is a bit over 7 pounds per piece, so I bought this for wildlife photography. When I used my last tripod, it would not lock my giant 150-mm lens The lens and camera for this 600mm lens are contemporary. I had to hold on tight until it would tip towards the ground as soon as I let go. With this Gimbal head, I am able to move it smooth, not only because it holds the weight of my big lens, camera and two batteries, but because it locks it in place solidly and I can move it quickly. Despite the fact that it was threaded 3/8 to 1/4, I was able to mount it to my heavy duty tripod regardless of type of thread. My experience with it has been very good, in fact, I'm planning to use it this morning.

The gimbal head is horrible
3/5

This is a problem, but it can be fixed. Let's start off by saying that this thing is Do not buy this if you are not handy. My bike can be disassembled and made stable and smooth by disassembling it. The following are the steps I took. My laptop was undoubtedly void of warranty after I disassembled it. I was able to get it stable and smooth. I removed the compass along with the cap that it sat in, and it came out of a gum ball machine. In order to gain access to the bolt, I had to disassemble it. Parts of the machining had not been deburred and bits of metal were trapped By cleaning up the loose metal and deburring the machining, I removed all burrs and burrs left behind. The parts were test fit, and they had a lot of slop to their fit, more than 0 percent. This is "030". To tighten the fit, I used brass shim stock as I was on a deadline and could not make a spacer. Due to a very tacky lubrication, all parts were cleaned and a Teflon based lubricant was used. A tapered bolt was very hard to find a proper pressure setting. A button head bolt was substituted with a brass washer to allow the joint to move through time. The tilt joint had been disassembled and must have been very wobbly before sealing. In both cases, I shimmied the parts to tighten the fit and lubricated them. Since part of the lock down mechanism is also an element of stability for this joint, it was a bit harder to shim. An added feature of the plate was the bubble level built into the lock down screw. In spite of the fact that it serves no practical purpose. Upon removing it, I discovered it was based on a metric thread M6 With it removed, I replaced it with a seat post adjuster from a bicycle and now have a In the place where the compass used to be, I attached with double sided tape a bubble level (in a position I thought would be useful). until I can machine the proper spacers out of UHMW and then I can attach the bubble level to it with greater precision. The price is what it is for the product, you get the quality In comparison with high-end gimbals that have more bells and whistles, the Vivitar gimbal may represent a good deal if you can fix these shortfalls.

The price you pay is what you get
3/5

In light of the price I did not have high expectations, but a little better quality would have been welcome. I received this item and the compass on top started failing almost the day after I received it. I tried to move it but it stuck in a tilted position no matter what I did. Further, it did not give good, accurate readings. A little while later, the button / cap that is used to set the compass fell off. When that happened, I didn't seem too upset since it was there that I found a screw that needed tightening to remove all the slop from A little slop is present in the adjustment for angle as well. The rotation effect is not as strong as the rotation one but is As of day 3, the foam coating was peeling off the edge of the head. It had only been used for about an hour at that point. According to what I heard, the quality of the product is ok for the price, but if I order something else I will spend more money to get a better product.
