Questions & Answers

What are the options for connecting a computer to this device? Could you please provide a brief explanation if so?

According to what I understand, it can be done but it's expensive, since you need a camera mounting fixture above eyepiece, a USB camera that attaches to the fixture, and the PC software to operate it. As of right now, I use the scope without a camera, but I would like to have one I wish you the best of

How much does the package cost?

Based on what I remember, mine is as follows Two pairs of optical lenses each with a 10x and 20x magnification.

Could it be used for measuring with a graticule in the optic?

I don't think it has one - if you're asking if it does. Despite its price tag, this microscope is a great buy. The veterinary tool I use all the time and am very pleased with is one I own.

Review by an expert for the amateur It's worth the cost, and maybe even If you like Let me begin by saying that I am a government microbiologist with experience working with the best microscopes that we have, such as darkfield, phase contrast, and more, used I've had to use some of the very worst equipment in the field, so I'm well-versed in many types of equipment

scopes in this price range with similar features, I can say this one is definitely worth the money for most people, especially those who don't need to use a scope often It is intended for professional use. The fact is that we have done pairwise comparisons in our lab (I literally put it side by side with It is worth noting that there are a couple In order to begin this dialog, I need to stress that I was specifically searching for a 2000x, dual eyepiece stereo compound scope without trinoculars or Rather than using the PLAN objective scope, I chose to use halogen light for several reasons I won't go into (DO NOT buy LED). While I didn't evaluate any other options, I wish in retrospect I had acquired the teaching version with the trinocular so that a second person could see what I am doing. The image quality of what is in focus is identical even though these scopes are not PLAN. Since they are not PLAN (you can find a wiki page about it), the focused field of view will be about 60% rather than 90%. When you are going to take a lot of large tissues, PLAN may be a better option however, the cost is nearly twice as great. When we are looking at cells, I do not notice or feel There are some positive things to mention 2) The objectives have been defined, reducing the possibility of broken slides for novice 1) the locking mechanism for the deck is nice for the same reason even though I find it a bit difficult to operate appears to be fairly durable for the most part. I don't expect the fine focus to hold up to rough handling or 20 years of use (specifically, the focus tends to fall back even if you tighten the lock), but you will get a lot of use from Easy to put together 4) no need to drill a pilot hole Install the objectives by screwing them in. There are a few I am concerned about 1) fine focus loose, as described above - The fact that others have not mentioned this may be unique to my scope of work 1) Deck seems to be a bit wobbly going up and down, not sure why, but it's There's nothing visible on the far right side of the slide because the hole in the deck is far too big - If you use just the center of the slide, then you should be fine 4) the eyepieces fall out too easily, although this is more of a habit issue It is really frustrating. 5) (and this is the bigger problem) I have noticed that I am getting dust/spotting on the top two objectives and I am unable to clean them. Considering that I clean after each use and cover it, I cannot tell if it is from the inside or not. Opening the top and cleaning the interior is something I would do, but I completely hate it unless the company gives me some instructions on how to clean it, since you never know how they manufactured the interior and most people are not equipped to clean it properly. Despite its reduced field of view, the other members of the lab could not tell the difference between this scope and our big scopes--other than the reduced magnification. So far, the pros outweigh the cons for me, as the cons are more annoying than functionally deficient, and the pros are delightful surprises for a device of this price range. The following recommendations For those who want to keep costs low, we recommend choosing a $800-$850 range You have the same scope as the 1000 (unless you want to add the variations such as PLAN objective and phase contrast options are great, but the vast majority of people don't really need them unless they have roughly an additional $400 to lay around. The company was very helpful when I called to ask a few questions about their scopes, even though they guy sounded young. I will try getting in touch with them about cleaning (I'm kind of surprised there isn't a manual that contains instructions on that). Don't buy anything from these sites related to digital cameras The software isn't great, they cost more than they should, and a digital camera with a scope adaptor will do just fine. In short, the scope is great, but there are a few minor issues. In the attached video, shot with a $100 handheld cam (sorry about the motion), no stain is to be seen and 400x is the magnification. The pictures are better at 2000x, but posting video is not an option for me.

Considering its price, this microscope is a good buy
5/5

My experience with various light microscopes is based on 45 years of use in academic and research environments. Due to the fact that I am retired now, I needed a low price microscope to quantify parasite eggs in goat feces at a magnification of about 100x. Although I suspect a minor toy microscope of $55 will work just fine for this, I didn't think I would be satisfied with this. Also, I may be interested in viewing the animalcules at higher magnification for my own amusement. Considering the factors of price, optical quality, and mechanical stability, the Amscope B490B microscope appears to be a good compromise between all of these factors. Particularly, the packing was secure, the components were clean, and the assembly of the microscope was straightforward. Parts did not appear to be missing. Plastic dust covers, an extra illuminator bulb, a spare fuse, and immersion oil were all included with it. I think that most of the parts of the microscope body are well built and the tolerances are fairly tight (except the slightly loose oculars, perhaps). It was centered correctly, had a bright illumination (and could be adjusted), and had a central point. It is reasonable to say that the objectives are focused. There were some strange phrases and terms in the manual but I felt that the content was adequate. Using B490B LM eyepiece, a hand held iPhone was used to record the image attached here.

I'm not sure how good it could be
4/5

As expected, the image quality is lower than what I'm used to. The microscope I use at school is better than mine. Despite my excitement, I was a little disappointed. However, it still seems pretty sturdy and we'll make the image look decent, but it could In my next post I will present two pictures, the first with the needle is the image I captured with my school microscope and the second being an image In terms of quality, there is a clear difference. These pictures were both taken with my Samsung Galaxy S9+.

The quality is amazing for the price
5/5

I work with $2000+ microscopes regularly in my medical lab tech program--this microscope is fantastic for the price! The top review notes that the field of view is a bit smaller than what you would get with a clinical grade scope, but the resolution is still impressive. Some reviewers report that the focus knobs are loose or inaccurate, but I haven't had any problems I found the microscope to be very sturdy and well built.

There were few minor complaints No instructions are included with the kit (although it is quite easy to assemble) and when it is turned on it makes a buzzing sound. For some reason, it does not come with lens paper or cleaner, but comes with immersion oil. My crappy phone camera took this photo of cheek cells and bacteria at 1000x, but it doesn't do the scope justice since it was pulled up to the eyepieces rather than being taken through it. It is much sharper in real life.

Overall, I am quite satisfied with the price of the microscope.

For home use, this is a fantastic scope
4/5

The scope I bought is meant to help me with my training as a medical laboratory scientist by allowing me to view body fluids more closely. Even though this scope does not have as high of resolution as those we have in class, it is not $6000 A high enough resolution permits the individual to see clearly bacteria, blood cells, skin cells, and crystal formations. This purchase was very satisfying for me, and it was very easy to assemble (no instructions were provided, but anyone could All that would make this scope better would be if a small storage case were included for all the colored lenses, oil, and optics. It is the only reason for not giving it five stars because of its resolution, however you shouldn't let this discourage you since this remains to be Additionally, I have used my Nikon coolpix to take pictures of the slides I made, and they have turned out very well. It is not necessary to buy a microscope camera unless you wish to save the time it would take to transfer.
