Questions & Answers

How big is it and how long is it?

The BASE measures 6 inches wide. 75" x 2. The Telrad is 25" in length and 1.25" in width. 75" x 8. Dennis K6KRV is 165" tall.

When it comes to attaching the Telrad to the scope, where on the scope is the most convenient/practical location?

Next to my Finder scope, I mounted my telrad on top of my Telescope. That is, however, with a large dobsonian telescope (12" dia.). The telrad is mounted at the back of my smaller Newtonian, which is mounted on an Equatorial mount, for counterbalance purposes. Although the top is ideal, you must also consider the balance of your scopes.

I'm not sure what kind of plastic this is made of. ?

ABS is used for the molded plastic, as well as the base.

Is the telrad's mounting hardware included?

The telrad is held in place by two screws on the side (as seen in the photo). The base has no attachments for mounting a scope to it.

For a telerad, it works fine
5/5

The telerad base is a good alternative to the standard bases, which do not transfer well from the telescope body. It's identical to the model made by the manufacturer. It's most likely identical.

As expected, it functions properly
5/5

This was purchased to allow me to switch between scopes and use my telrad. I had no problems mounting it to the second scope, and my telrad fit perfectly.

There will be no surprises. It's just like the Telrad finder in terms of performance.

There are two telescopes in use
5/5

a single telrad You can save some money if you plan ahead. This is deserving of a brief and straightforward assessment. br>br>I own an Orion 130EQ as well as an XT10. The Telrad unit ranges in price from $40 to $50, depending on where you purchase it. With one of these mounting bases, you can easily use the unit on two telescopes. Because the Telrad is so easy to adjust, I've never spent more than a few minutes moving, adjusting, and observing between telescopes.

The mounting screw was also missing when it arrived. A mounting screw was missing when it arrived. A replacement could be found at the hardware store.

It worked perfectly! I just needed another mount so I could switch between telescopes with my Telrad. It was as simple to set up as it gets.

It's a telrad base, in case you didn't notice
5/5

This is what you'll need if you have a Telrad that you want to mount on another scope. This is a genuine Telrad base, not a knock-off. Shipping was very quick.
