Product Description

Suitable for telescope tubes of any diameter, except Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope optical tubes. The metal base has a large thumbscrew lock and fits telescope tubes of any diameter. There are two M4 screws included.

It can be installed on telescopes with finder scopes, Laser Pointer brackets or reflex sights, and is an excellent way to add a second or third aiming device.

Screws up to 4mm in diameter can be threaded (but not drilled). To have a telescope with 20mm center-to-center screw holes, you must position the screws 20mm apart

With an anodizing aluminum process, this product is made from high-strength aluminum. The Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope optical tubes are not intended for use with this product.

It can be custom installed on any telescope with any finder scope, EZ Finder reflex sight, and green laser pointer bracket.

How do I determine which dovetail bar this fits? I already ordered 2 dovetails and was forced to return them because they were too large?

A guidescope or finder scope dovetail, generally made by Synta/Vixen, Meade or Celestron, fits into this. The AP dovetails are rather narrow and TeleVue uses square channels for their rings, so it will not work with them. In addition to its guider/finder mounts, Synta/Vixen's dovetails for telescope mounts cannot be confused with Vixen mounts for telescopes.

This dovetail mount can be used to hold an ASI Air Pro by attaching it with a zip tie to tripod legs or eyepiece trays. Among the features of ASI Air is its male dovetail that is securely held in the mount. It is less messy and more convenient to use Velcro.

Comparing this mount with others with slotted "multi-slot" bases will help you determine which is most reliable A screw hole should "fit" into the hole. This is what I installed on my 6" Meade Newtonian from the early 1980s. During an observation session, different finders can be mounted very quickly using this mount.

With it, I am able to mount my mini guide scope on top of my ASI2600MC camera which fits perfectly in the ZWO Holder Ring. It fits perfectly into the ZWO bracket with its 20mm sized holes.
