This is an Orion mount as standard. Usually your scope's finder scope will fit in the mount where it is the finder scope.
I would like to know if this will fit on the top ring of my 130st Telescope.
I hope all is well with you Sorry for the delay in responding to your email. A mistake on my part led to me missing your original email. The answer to your question is yes, the Orion 10145 Dual Finder Scope bracket will fit on the 8SE. This instrument features a mount for a dovetail base. With these two dovetails, you don't need to bother with the finder that comes with the scope. Instead, install the Orion dual bracket and you're done. In my answer, I based my decision on my experience with the Celestron 5" Mak, but I also consulted the 8SE manual just to be completely certain. I give it to Steve

This is excellent! It finally did what I needed, combining my finder scope and laser finder under one hood. Orion XT10I works well for me and I have no complaints. There was no way I was going to attach this to my telescope with sticky tape. It tilts forward, so I need to add counterweights to my dob to balance it. Once I add the counterweights, I will be able to balance the dob. The replica of this particular telescope was ordered by one of my friends for their When you want to use a finding scope and a laser finder simultaneously, this mount is the one you want. The book is highly recommended!.
On my one remaining mount, I use it to mount my guide camera and sky sensor camera. No flexure is required for this model. It has yet to be determined if screw down locks are as secure as they claim The ball seems to be moving from side to side a little. It would be nice if there were two screws on If possible, lock down as much as possible.
I was surprised at how affordable this was at the time I bought it, but it was still a good choice. The 6 inch Dobsonian telescope seemed to have a very difficult time finding DSOs. The red dot finder and the Right Angle Finder from Correct Image were mounted using this device. This works well with the first and is easy to mount with the second. The Orion DOB is slid right on. You will not need to drill any holes or fiddle with anything. This is a great product. I give you one It is always a good idea to check the tightness of the mount before moving it. The mount did come loose on mine once, and the entire mount crashed to the ground. There was no damage to either finderscope, but you need to take note.
Yes, I was missing one of the clamps. I had to get Orion to provide the second clamp. This was not the first time they heard of it. But anyway, I am looking forward to getting my laser pointer accessory to work along with my autoguider.
The idea was to mount a 5" Mak-mount on it so as to mount a finder scope and a DSLR A telescope called the Cass The design is solid and it Using a separate clamp, I can secure my DSLR to the mount without it shifting. In the past, I have found the single screw on the Orion clamps to be insufficient, but in recent years I have not had too many problems It was only a matter of aligning the finder scope that I experienced a problem. In order for the finder scope to line up with its adjustment screws, I had to add a small shim to get the alignment close. The brackets or the feet that go on top should be able to be adjusted to fit in any direction.
The hardware is nice and durable, but it does not include support to quickly mount directly to the scope (you'll need another dovetail to fix it to). It is likely that I will return with a smaller scope bracket using the existing dovetail split.
In the course of imaging I alternated throughout the day between a conventional finder and an Orion Miniguider. Having to complete this lengthy process was inconvenient and time-consuming. In doing so, was able to keep both the finder and guider attached to the scope without the need to install a second shoe on all my scopes during an entire evening. I have been imaging with this solution for over a year, and it has worked well for me. It does not appear to wobble or flex in any way. I almost consider it a necessity, because of its convenience.
One stalk was a perfect fit for both my finderscope and Starsense camera.
