The 300 series 2 and 500 series II lenses I use both use the same foot. I cannot figure out why yours does not, except that you say that it is older. I regret for not being able to help you more.

I highly doubt that the Canon 500mm f/4L IS (mkI) is compatible with this lens
3/5

Based heavily on the questions & answers and reviews, I just purchased this for my Canon 500mm f/4L IS There was part of the description where it said that the lens was compatible with this one, and some reviews mention it as well. As far as I know, this lens will NOT work with the Canon 500mm F/4L IS Mark I. It is important to note that the screws included are the wrong size, and the holes are patterned differently. Therefore, even if you reuse the screws from the Canon lens foot, the holes in the Haoge foot will not line up properly, since the Haoge foot has significantly closer holes. They will have to go in at an angle if you try to force them in, and you may end up damaging the tripod ring on your You will likely have to take the lens ring to a Canon service center to get it replaced since this isn't a user-removable tripod ring. Therefore, expect this to cost about $500 or more.

DON'T RISK IT! As for the plate itself, it fits the lens well and functions well
4/5

I think the handle could be a few cm longer so that there is room for a monopod and the screwdriver Additionally, it would be a great help if the belt's height could be 0 inches. Turning the lens hood around will allow the hood to fit better in the camera backpack (when it will be placed in the back of the Lastly, I would like to remind anyone buying a Canon lens not to use the set of screws that came with the A couple of the mounting holes in the foot of the original ring collar are less shallow than the others. A standard height has been set for the mounting holes of the Haoge plate. Instead of using the screws provided by Haoge, use the ones provided by the manufacturer. If so, it will work perfectly.

There is no quality control and no support provided by the company I have updated A solution has been found for the problem
4/5

I have updated As a result of this, Amazon had to replace the unit with one that had no warranty This is a defective model. Despite how nice this unit is, I have only one complaint about it the pattern on the "grip" (inside) of the handle is a bit uncomfortable when used as a handle to carry my heavy 600mm lens. In my opinion, this is a good choice, considering I have not found a better choice for this price point so far (and hopefully it does not arrive defective). I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 star rating Here and there. The following older information is available I received a unit with a debilitating defect one of the two threaded inserts does not seat down into the recessed hole on the bottom of the foot (see picture 2 below). Because of this, it cannot be attached to an Arca type head. Despite going back and forth, I was not able to wind in the insert A defective part seems to be present, and the device cannot be used. The company did not respond to my email inquiry regarding service and I tried contacting them. The number of Amazon's call center was blocked after an attempt to contact them. A new one was sent to me by Amazon. The piece appears to be very high quality if it weren't for the screw problem. We'll see how it goes with the next one!.

The EF 600mm f/4 L II is not designed to work with this item
3/5

As you can imagine, you cannot use the lens cap to protect the front element without the hood on the lens. It is important to note that the foot is quite A solid foot weights more than five pounds and several times as heavy as.
