To balance the weight of the camera when the lens is fully extended, I purchased this Nikon Coolpix P900 lens ring. To my math, I added half-a-point There is a one inch velcro pile on the inside of the ring to tighten the fit, as the ring is just a tad too big I mounted the ring to the lens housing barrel and it fits snugly and when mounted to my tripod, the ring is perfectly balanced and does not move. For those with a Coolpix P900 or P950 camera that want sharp long distance still shots, this ring is a must have. I have used this ring several times with my camera and the results were far more sharp than when the camera body was mounted It is also essential to have a heavy duty tripod and heavy duty head.
An optical device.
There were reviews saying others had purchased it for Nikon P900, but had to modify it to fit snugly. As it turns out, the P950 is just slightly larger and I had to work at it to fit Securing the hat was only a matter of fitting it snugly. This is a noteworthy item and I would recommend it.
I found the product to be sturdy and well-suited for the standard tripod bolt. In addition, the price is good. The ring itself is still too loose for a Nikon P900 even with the ring clamped. For firmly securing the lens into the clamping device, I will have to get a rubber gasket or think of another solution. When purchasing a clamp mount for a camera lens, ensure that the dimension matches what your lens is.
After looking at the reviews, I ordered this product. For my Nikon P900, this is the perfect accessory. There is a possibility that it may need some construction depending on what lens you use and what kind of camera you use. You were honest, which I appreciated. To attach the Velcro to the inside of the ring, I will use the smooth side of the Velcro. I was recommended to do so by one of my fellow photographers. There is also a similar type of product for this photographer.
It is really not very practical to mount with the standard mount. A good connection has been made with this.
I purchased the item to use with I have to tighten it up by 200 mm. Has a metal finish and appears to be well made.
