Questions & Answers
I got one to fit my 2008 Corvette and it should work with any wired mirror. It's not an issue. I didn't have to make any changes, and it's been working fine for a few months now.
It will work if your escort plugs into a telephone jack.
It's compatible if there's power near the backview mirror. THX!
Similar but shorter items are available from other sellers. I'm glad these were available because I needed the extra length for my installation and the price was great.

Installation was simple and painless in my 2018 Colorado. The factory connector was accessible by removing the cover behind the mirror. There are a few YouTube videos that show how this is done. I've included a pinout with connection points for the connector. Without pulling the connector apart, the image shows what you'll see on the vehicle side.
They charged $80 for work that took me 5 minutes to do myself, but that was before I knew about this product; they charged me $80 for work that took me 5 minutes to do myself! br>br>For most cars and trucks, all you have to do is choose the right size (pins) cord from the set of three they send you for your specific rear view mirror plug. For most late model vehicles, all you have to do is locate both power and ground and plug them into the back of the mirror harness (see instructions included). It took me less than two minutes to complete this task. Advantages: br>br>

Stop paying $60 or even $80 for something so basic at "custom" auto shops. and by using this fantastic product, you will save money!.
In my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek, it worked perfectly. I did some research on the internet and was able to find the information I needed. My mirror is equipped with auto-dimming. There were three wires going into the plug on the back of my mirror because it had dimming and a compass. Ground was the furthest away from the passenger seat, followed by power and space. The auto-power is in the middle power range. You don't want the dimming to turn off when you put it in reverse. When the ignition is turned on, the wire closest to you (black with white stripe) is always on. I had to use the Mirror Tap with the smallest pins for my Crosstrek, and you'll have to really push it in hard (make sure you push straight or the pin will bend) to make sure it's seated in next to the wire; I then carefully wrapped all of the wires together with electrical tape two times just to make sure when plugging/unplugging the Radar Detector (Uniden R7 ; )) and it didn't jar the pins loose or out when I moved the Mirror Tap wire around. GET THIS SET IF YOU NEED A MIRROR TAP! There are three in total, each with a different size pin for different types of vehicles. With this 3-piece set, you CAN'T GO WRONG. Mirror Taps in a Pack!.
The radar detector on my Max360 will not turn on, despite the fact that the pins are in the correct places. It's worth noting (though I'm not sure it matters) that the Escort cable has only four wires inside, whereas these have six. It won't turn on for some reason that I don't understand. None of the ones included in the kit would work for me.
br>The length is just long enough to reach from the overhead button compartment to beneath the mirror. br>br>I hardwired the R7 to my motorcycle using a spare cable. Due to the lack of a switched power source within cable reach, this required a little more effort and soldering, but it worked.
If your mirror has power, it's very simple to install; if not, tap into the dome lights, which takes a little more effort. There are three different terminals included, allowing you to select the one that best suits your needs.
I don't write reviews very often, but these worked when others didn't. I have a molex connector with deeper pins that must be used to obtain power and ground. These did the trick when it came to hardwiring a Valentine 1 into a 2018 Tundra Platinum. The powered mirror connector was immediately plugged back in. It was an excellent solution.
I spent hours trying to install and troubleshoot the useless wires because the wires I received did not work. On another car with a Uniden, I verified that the Escort radar detector was working properly using a mirror wire (Radar Mount RJ11 Mirror Wire Radar Detector Hardwire Power Cord for Uniden DFR Series (3005201U) setup. I also tested these wires by connecting them directly to the battery, but there was still no response. I got continuity for the ground and hot using a voltmeter, indicating that the wires were not connected to the proper pins. br>br>Buy them if you want to save money and hope to get a working set of wires, but stay away from them if you don't want to waste your time.
