In a matter of weeks, it fails. Garbage - Purchasing is not recommended. I purchased at the end of June. By the end of July, I think I was in denial. I didn't want to believe that, despite the negative reviews, I had made the wrong decision to buy this. The other bad reviews are 100% accurate as well. DO NOT BELIEVE THE POSITIVE REVIEWS. The wires on the connector were pulling out of the connector within weeks of purchase, and the plug on the other end would not stay securely in the power socket (on two different vehicles). By the end of August, I had made up my mind, but it was too late. I was on the other side of the "return window. " Please don't waste your money or time on this subpar product; I'm going to buy the OEM, as I should have done in the first place. It's a lot more expensive, but at least I know that my original cord lasted about 5 years rather than 5 weeks.
I had a hardwired cord for years, but after selling the vehicle in which it was installed and losing the original power cord, I decided to give this cord a try because it was the cheapest cord with the best reviews. It's perfect for my radar, and I haven't had any problems with it. I would recommend this cord to anyone in need of a replacement.
I bought this wire to use in my escort radar detector, but for some reason the gps doesn't work properly with it; I have no problems with the oem wire, but the gps malfunctions every time I switch this cable.
It's a little short, but it gets the job done. The escort has been yanked out of the window a couple of times due to the coil's tightness. It will improve as it ages, in my opinion.
I've tried it with both my Chevy and Toyota trucks, and it works. The Escort Radar detector cuts on and off when you hit a bump or touch it, causing the Radar to go off, BeepBeep I missed the return date by 5 days, and there is no warranty listed.
The connector had been improperly secured to the wire, and it had pulled away. I'm aware of the plugs' inherent vulnerability and use them with caution, but this one is the epitome of poor workmanship. br>br>Update: I had to return to update my review because I find this to be such a waste of time. I decided to replace the connector on it because I needed a power cord while I waited for the OE cord I ordered to replace this junk to arrive. The power has been restored, but oh no, there's a new issue. It continues to leap from the power outlet! It pops out as soon as you push it in! Push in . pop out. I'd use a hammer if I had one.
My radar detector is now a perfect plug-and-play replacement! Beltronics 995 is in perfect working order!.
