Questions & Answers
It's possible that you can clean it. Warm, soapy water can be used to clean it. It should be slightly sticky, with no movement of the detector. If it's slipping, it's most likely due to dust or dirt interfering with the detector's and mat's ability to form a strong bond.
I believe it measures 2x4 inches. I'd like to comment on the product's details: it's fantastic!
The only way your detector's accuracy would be harmed is if you encountered any of the issues listed below while locating it to the dash.
1. Your vehicle has a spoiler in the back, or any other physical object hanging from the car's roof or otherwise blocking the rear facing sensor.
2. The dashboard in your car extends all the way to the top of the windshield. For example, suppose you place your detector on your dashboard and it points to the sky rather than the road ahead.
3. The number of items on your dashboard has increased; (peak - More than 16 inches from the windshield itself, at the tallest point of your dash (which is also the best location for dash mounted detectors) As a result of the angle, the incoming signal from a radar is defracted or distorted by the glass in your windshield. br>I hope this has been of assistance to you. Since being mounted on the dashboard, my detector has been performing admirably.
I'm not aware of any installation fees. I'm not sure how much it cost, but it wasn't much more than ten dollars. All you have to do is stick it on the surface, and it usually works.

Because I live in Southwest Texas, close to Mexico, I was concerned. When I say it gets hot, I mean it. I mean, it gets really hot! Because I'd read so many reviews of other people's mats melting on their dashboards, I was very concerned that mine would as well. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I've had it for about two months now. I'm head over heels for you. Let it be known that whenever I remember, I remove it from the dashboard and place it upside down on the seat when I exit the vehicle. When I get in the car, I just put it back on. It doesn't matter what you do, it'll stay sticky. I've un-stuck and re-stuck myself. I've stuck it a few times now, more than I can count, and it's still as sticky as it was on the first day. And yes, my dashboard is curved as well, and only about 3/4 of it sits on the dashboard, but it won't move no matter what! It's clinging to the surface. It's absolutely incredible. Oh, and it was a little too big when I got it, so I put the radar on top of it. It was cut in such a way that it stayed perfectly undetected under the radar. The best choice. My family and I would enthusiastically recommend you. This EXACT ONE to be friends with. Don't be afraid; I was, too. Now I'm wondering, "How did I go so long without doing something?" Haha.
This is a fantastic tool. I like how I can take my detector on and off my dash and it still works as well as it did the first time I used it. The only thing that worries me is that my detector sits flat on it and has air vents on the bottom. They say to keep those open for obvious reasons, but my unit (Uniden R3) doesn't appear to get that hot from what I've observed. In the Fall, Winter, and Spring, I don't believe it will be an issue, but in the Summer, it may be. So, when it gets hot outside in the summer, I might go with a different mount. Aside from that, this device does a great job of holding things in place. I would highly recommend it for keeping detectors and other devices on your dashboard in place.
I was searching Amazon for a shaped friction tape. I looked for small squares, strips, and other shapes, but all I found were large rolls of tape. That was not what I was looking for. I decided to broaden my search by looking for a sticky radar pad, and this was one of the results. The Anti-Blue Lightning Blue Lightning Anti-Blue Lightning Blue Lightning Anti-Blue Lightning Blue Lightning Anti-Blue Lightning Blue Lightning Blue Lightning It's a slip pad, and it's fantastic. Despite the fact that my dash lacks a true flat surface for the pad or my radar detector to sit on, this pad secures the radar detector and never wiggles! Thank you, Blue Lightning, for creating such a fantastic product!! br>br>I bought one for my husband, and he likes it, but when he removes his radar detector from the dash to get it out of the sun, the mat sticks to the bottom of the detector. My detector doesn't have any because I had a couple pieces of the friction spots I mentioned and had placed them on the bottom. As a result, I can take my detector off the mat without it sticking. Is there anything I can do to keep my husband's mat from becoming a part of his detector? A few pieces of electrical tape on the bottom of his detector? HELP!.
Even though the entire bottom of the pad is not in contact with the dash due to the curved design, it works great for holding my Escort 9500ix in place on my dash. So far, keeping the detector in place on the dash during turns and other maneuvers has not been a problem. I haven't tried using it to hold anything that isn't horizontal, but I believe it would work to some extent. It stays sticky, but there is some lint on the pad, which I plan to clean off with a rinse, as the manufacturer suggests. This is something I would strongly recommend to a friend or anyone.
You'll be able to hold your radar detector or phone SECURELY on your dash or console to some extent, but you'll need to look elsewhere. I bought this for my wife to keep her iPhone in place while driving, but it kept falling off the pad. I finally got her a cup holder (from Amazon). a goose-mounted a phone caddy for her neck that actually holds her phone in an easy-to-reach position The phone is held in place in this access position.
My foot is heavy, and when I say heavy, I mean that it doesn't fall off. I had my doubts because of the price, but with two 12inch kickers in the back, my radar is still intact. It may appear to fall off easily right out of the box, but once you sit it in, it won't.
As you can see from my previous review, I had a lot of good things to say about this device. There are two issues. 1) This product will melt in the sun, and if you try to remove it while it's hot, you'll end up with a black goop all over your hands. or your electronic devices When it's been on the dash for a while and you try to remove it when it's cold, it'll fall off. in my situation - My dashboard has a dark stain on it that I can't get rid of, so it's ruined. This mat is incredible!br>br>I recommend making a different choice. br>br>I recommend making a different choice. br>br> Suction cups on windshields, bean bag dashboard holders with suction cups - I've tried it all. They all have one thing in common: 1) they all fail in the heat and cold; 2) they slide around the dash; and 3) with these types of devices, your radar detector, expensive GPS, or cell phone will become airborne and crash into the floor or a window! br>br>This is a huge step forward! There will be no suction cups, and there will be no unsightly bean bags. It not only beautifies your car by molding to the contours of the dashboard, but it also adds functionality. It clings crazily to everything! This mat will not be moved! My radar detector is perfectly adhered to the top! I've made sharp turns and abrupt stops, and this does not move, nor does my device fly or show any movement! br>br>Final Thought - This is fantastic! There is no residue left behind when you remove your device. Trust your purchase - I believe you'll find that all of your worries have vanished!.
I needed something to hold my radar detector while also allowing me to take it on and off the dash with ease. Furthermore, it couldn't stick to the window because items attached to windows are prohibited in California. I also needed it to be easy to remove when driving through a military base. I simply grab it, place it on the floor, and when I return from the military base, I can pop it back on the dash and it will stay put. Never, ever, ever slide or move. I've had it for a month and there hasn't been any noticeable reduction in 'tackiness,' but only time will tell. However, everything has gone well so far.
