It's hard to tell. In 2010 I received an A5 and it worked properly, though the one I received was defective. I'm waiting for the replacement, but I worry that the problem will be the same.
Due to the lack of a headphone jack on iPhone X, you'll need the Bluetooth adapter. This is the 6+ that I still have, and it works great.

There isn't anything like it. My 2011 Audi A6 Avant Prestige 3 costs only a fraction of what the Audi OEM product costs. The Audi Quattro is zero. An Audi retailing at $60K new failed to provide an AUX input in their infinite wisdom. It's plug and play, giving me instant access to an AUX option on the media menu so I can listen to prerecorded music or internet radio right on my iPhone 6 Plus by just plugging it in. The MMI/AMI screen does not allow me to skip songs or change channels, but I don't mind that on the whole. This can still be performed directly on the iPhone screen, as long as the driver observes normal safety measures. There is enough length in the cable to find my iPhone anywhere within a reasonable reach of my hand. What I love about my Audi is. . . A normal connection is available between an iPhone and a computer. A five-star rating because it does exactly what it says it will. My only regret is that most cable sets do not come with a wire to charge the phone. My charging system currently requires me to use a separate USB plug and cable to keep it topped off.
I could not use my cable due to a problem. If it were like that, the MMI's External Audio Input option would not be enabled. It made no difference no matter how many times and how many things I tried. There was no color associated with it, as if the MMI never recognized it as
In the picture below, you can see what the aux (External Audio Input) should look like in case it detects that a cable is It's a cable I'm returning for a different brand that's been working for longer than a year. I received a defective item that should work for a 2011 Audi A4 Avant, and it is compatible with the vehicle. Please note EDIT It was very appreciative of the seller to apologize for the defective cable and offer a free replacement, even after I returned the product. I had already replaced it with another cable.
A few of these MDI cords have been purchased for my 2011 Audi Q5. It took a few weeks to a few months for all of them to go bad. I find this one to be the best so far. It is thicker and better These are not similar to the others in price or quality. I haven't purchased anything like these in the past. The sound is more bassy, compared to my previous headphones.
The software played the music ok, but did not have any support for car interfaces (for skipping songs or navigating them), and also, in an odd and really irritating way, would not stop or pause the music either. When a music app was closed on the phone, it would automatically start up again after a bit. Additionally, I bought the Bovee Wireless Car Kit for AUDI (which was much more expensive, but was able to work. In the end, I chose that product, as it has been extremely easy to set up and install and allows for pausing and using the car's display.
It's not the easiest solution, but it's the simplest way to resolve a problem that shouldn't exist at all. My 2015 Q5 has no Bluetooth I have tried to play music on the phone but it didn't work. Even though it was used, I bought the car anyway because I love it so much. A few minutes after spending way too much time researching this issue, the ad for this popped up on some website I was visiting. My order arrived just 10 minutes ago, and it was up and running within 30 seconds of being plugged in. I like the sound, and installing it was a breeze. This adapter is an Apple issue, so I will have to wait until I receive it. Buy with confidence if you own an Audi with the MMI. That's what I mean.
The phone is plugged into the area where this is located. It is to be expected when you're paying the price. Until I need to get a new cord, I will continue to use this one.
The review will be updated if my opinions change in the future. I have found this MMI cable to be exactly what I needed so far. My 2012 Audi A4 Quattro S line loves it. It's a better deal than the $60 I paid at the dealer. There is a 00 dollar price tag on the car. It does a great job, and with the longer cable, we can play movies from our phones, tablets, and computers on the audio system in our car, which my children find very enjoyable, especially on trips. With Spotify listening at my fingertips, I can listen to my favorite music playlists whenever I want. Considering that the product resembles a factory accessory at a better price and is also more user friendly, I consider the price to be great.
