Yes, I have a 2009 myself and yes it is a simple fix. I watched a video on YouTube and it was picked up with just a Phillips screw driver. If you are mechanically inclined, the fix should not take you more than 15 minutes.

The auxiliary port works perfectly as a replacement. To replace it in my 2010 Corolla I simply had to pop out some plastic panels and unhook the previous My inspection of the circuit board before installation showed that the PCB and soldering job are of a high standard, comparable to that of the original Toyota design. The only complaint I have is that the plastic dimensions are not exactly right it has a little bit of wiggle after it is.
