No, I don't mean batteries. Although the mic has a built-in preamp that requires power, this is provided by either the mixer via Phantom Power or an external, separate Phantom supply. In addition to being an excellent microphone, it is also an excellent value. I'm currently using a few of them.
It does not, in fact. We placed an order for the Shure CVD- 12-volt B XLR Desktop Base To use with this microphone, you'll need a black inch cable. The bottom of the XLR desktop base is covered in a rubber vibration-absorbing material.
It does, in fact, make use of phantom energy. There is no power in the desktop base, and there is no way to turn it on or off. Other vendor bases with an on/off switch that are sold separately have caught my eye. Perhaps one of these bases will make use of lithium ion batteries in the future.
I'm pretty sure I used a 1" to 1" scale. a hole of about 1/4" To connect it to the XLR cord connector, you'll need enough space.

It's a significant difference with a crisp, clear sound. I can't express how wonderful it is enough. Even as the preacher moved his mouth closer or farther from the microphone, it continued to pick up and sound great. We were so impressed that we all agreed that the old one should have been replaced years ago, despite the fact that it still worked.
We chose the 12" neck version over the 18" neck version because the latter would be too close to the preacher in this pulpit. We bought it to begin with a live stream of the church service because we didn't have a sound system. During the service, there are other background noises, and this microphone does an excellent job of picking up only the speaker. Both through the mixer and on YouTube, it sounds fantastic. I debated whether a more expensive Shure podium mic (which costs $200) would be a better option, but this one was less than half the price and works fantastically.
NOTE: A Shure plastic mount came with this mic, but it's not a "shock mount. " Purchase an Audio-Visual Recorder as well. AT8646QM Microphone Shockmount Technica AT8646QM Microphone Shockmount Technica AT8646QM Microphone Plate to be mounted It costs around $60 (and is also available on Amazon), but it will protect your microphone from finger tapping, page turning, (or pulpit pounding!). ) that may occur, enhancing the performance of this microphone.
This microphone was recently added to the smaller podium at my church for non-serious speakers. Speakers from the Church of England It got a good workout the weekend after it arrived, and it turned out to be fantastic! The only issue was presenters' annoying habit of bringing microphones closer to their mouths - With this mic, you don't need to do that. In fact, I have an older Shure gooseneck on the pulpit that I will most likely replace with this model because it is so effective. Kudos to Shure!.
This was purchased for a church's small sanctuary (approximately 200 seats), and it sounds lovely. The Shure CVD-100 was purchased by us. It comes with a B XLR Desktop Base, and the two together make a great portable set.
It's amazing how clear the sounds are. The old microphone on the podium at church was giving me unwanted feedback. Not only are there thumping sounds when things hit the wood podium, but there are also rumbles from the speaker next to it. The podium feedback was just as bad when I first installed this mic without the Shock Mount. The Shock Mount was a game changer.
The microphone is very good. It's a shame Amazon depicted it with a base when it doesn't come with one. I used to rely on Amazon for such honesty, but thanks to reviewers, I was able to order the base at the same time.
There are no regrets because the sound quality is excellent and the pickup sensitivity is excellent.
Is everything you would expect from a Shure. I use it as a desk/podium top and it works great. br>br>Very good mic at a good price. br>br> Make sure you read all of the other reviews to get a good idea of what you'll be getting.
- You'll need to order the base separately unless you already have a female xlr connector where you want to use it (the picture is misleading). As a result, the deal isn't quite as good as it appears at first.
- It is a lengthy document. The 12" version is what I ordered. The gooseneck is 12", the mic head is an inch longer, the connector is 4" longer, and the base, if used, is an additional 2". As a result, the 12-inch microphone is actually an 18-inch microphone. 19" long. The 18" would have been unusable at the gig I originally ordered it for (thanks for letting me know, Wheeler).
- It necessitates the use of phantom energy. It's not a big deal, but keep it in mind. I did, but it was saved by the fact that I had it on my Zoom recorder.
