Because it's a one-channel pre, I'm not sure if it's possible. I'm guessing it's either/or for the input/output. I can't be sure without trying, but I only have one microphone.
This is not an audio interface, but rather a microphone preamp. You'd plug your microphone into one of the Presonus' inputs, and then into one of the XLR or 1/4 outputs, which you'd plug into another USB-powered device. To connect to a computer, type audio interface.
Yes, it should work fine because your microphone or instrument is connected directly to the preamp. Then just run a short cable from the preamp's output to the amp's output. amp into the audio box's channel input if you're using one. I recently purchased one of these and am very pleased with the sound and simplicity of operation. I did, however, follow other people's advice and replace the tube with a higher-quality one, which is a fairly simple procedure.
Yes, the xlr out is being used.

For lack of a better term, the treble is "airy," with no hint of harshness. If you're looking for a neutral response, this captures the detail and sounds good on almost anything. br>br>On the other hand, the tube drive pleasantly surprised me; I wasn't expecting much, but it sounds good on some sources. Because there is no intermodulation distortion, monophonic instruments, such as vocals, appear to benefit the most. It tried it with good results on an acoustic guitar and found that the tube drive can add texture to a singer with a "dull" voice. Low order harmonics are added as the drive is increased, as well as a slight boost in the lower treble region for more presence. In short, the tube drive brightens the sound while also adding warmth (in the form of soft distortion). On high settings, the tube drive can be seen compressing one side (pos or neg) of the signal while preserving the other, which is typical of single triode distortion. The phase button is unusual. br>br> Adding bass and warmth to the signal by pressing the phase button "in" If you don't use it, your response will be flatter, less colored, and have less bass. br>br>There is 80dB of gain overall, and it is not noisy. With a ribbon mic, it should work. The response and sound vary slightly depending on how the phase button and tube drive are used in combination with different gain settings. This preamp has the ability to sound like a variety of other preamplifiers. br>br>I'd like to make one additional point. Don't waste your money on a super expensive preamp if you don't have a great microphone. A $5000 preamp, a $900 preamp, a $100 preamp, and a $30 preamp all sound different to me. However, MOST PEOPLE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TELL WHICH SOUNDS BETTER, or, perhaps more accurately, MOST PEOPLE WILL NOT APPRECIATE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE $29 AND THE $39. If you don't use compressors or other effects, the 99 preamp and the $5000 (choose your favorite brand) preamp are a good match. Again, I can hear the difference, but I guarantee that if I put a $30 compressor in the hands of a professional producer and forced him to track an entire album with it, the album would sound great. The ART is a sterile amplifier that is quiet and precise until pushed, at which point it has a tube that compresses and distorts. br>br>I believe the PreSonus preamp has the best sound quality/price ratio of any preamp. For a very low price, you get a preamp that is nearly indistinguishable from much more expensive preamps that cost more than ten times as much. As far as I'm concerned, the tube drive is a bonus, but I'm confident that after trying it out and seeing how well it works, I'll be using it on tracks.
I've had the v2 for about a month and a half. It's neat and tidy, which I like. I have an older Bluetube two-channel amplifier. I bought this one as a backup to the microphone model. On the Bluetube, one of the mic channels had failed, and I didn't want to be caught off guard if the other channel failed as well. I've noticed that the VU meter's light has dimmed almost to nothing on both the Bluetube model and the v2, making it impossible to read the numbers without close inspection. Within a few weeks, the dimming VU meter issue appeared on both models. It hasn't interfered with the devices' functionality, but it would have been nice if the manufacturer had included a simple LED that could last for years. br>br>In any case, the tube drive is why I bought this item; it makes a huge difference in the sound on that level. I only record audio books, so I don't need much in the first place- Just a small tweak to bring out the natural bass in my voice and add some "edgy-ness" to the mix. ness.
This is an excellent preamp; I wish I had purchased it sooner. The vocals are warm and rich. Even after removing the low end and EQing the vocals, they remain warm. Smooth does not necessitate the use of a de-smoothing agent. This Preamp is Loud, which is exactly what I needed. Now I can record music without the struggle and frustration of trying to get the quality I want. Warmth enhances the performance of your microphone.
The tube adds thickness and color to the signal, boosting it nicely. When the chain is properly dialed in, it is quiet.
It works. However, it introduces about 10 dB of noise into the system. I did get the elctro harmonix tube, which was even noisier than the original. At 1 o'clock on the gain control knob, there is a distinct crunch. Customer service is excellent; they are returning the item and repairing it after a 45-minute wait for a CSR.
It's a great mic preamp, and the old-style VU meter gives it a nice vintage look. It works. It's a great mic preamp, and the old-style VU meter gives it a nice vintage look. I don't have high hopes; Just get my mic to sound good enough for my computer. The mission has been completed.
Warm vocals, louder and clearer vocal recordings without having to turn up the volume on my Audio Box interface are exactly what I was looking for. This is a must-have, or if not, a pre-requisite. amplification in general.
This tube amp is one of my favorites because it adds warmth and strength to my voice that no power amp can match. This is the ticket to a great sound on your voice if you're a solo folk music performer, and I highly recommend it.
