I've been using Cloudlifters for a long time and still consider them to be the best in the business. The sound is fantastic, and the build quality is outstanding. However, they are costly; the dual mic model costs $250, and I cannot afford $500 for my portable setup. br>br>I'm overjoyed to have discovered these Klark. The fact that they're only $50 for the two mic model made me think there was something wrong with them. My purchase has made me so happy. They're small in comparison to my cloud lifter, for starters. I've used it with Shure's SM- R20, 7 and rode mic There are no problems, and the gain is comparable to that of the cloud lifter. There isn't any coloration that can be seen. They have a solid metal casing and are extremely well made. It's almost on par with the cloud lifter. I bought two more for a fifth of the price.
I would strongly suggest it. I received this because I began to use a two-way radio. More mic setup and I thought this dual preamp was a good deal. This unit has a higher output and a lower noise floor than a single sE Dynamite in-line unit. I've been using a line mic preamp. The construction is of excellent quality and is extremely durable.
