THE CL-1 Cloudlifter is a plug-and-play inline device that safely converts 48V phantom power from a preamp or audio interface into ultra-clean 25db gain for your ribbon, condenser, or tube microphone.

ENSURES ZERO TONE COLORATION - The CL-1's discrete JFET circuitry allows you to hear more of the microphone itself. It enhances the audio signal without adding color or noise to the natural sound of your microphone.

CL-1 cuts through the audio mix on stage with increased gain before the feedback attack, reducing MIC FEEDBACK. On long cable runs, the mic activator also helps to reduce line noise.

It's impressive and tidy! This was purchased to go with a Cascade Fathead ribbon mic that I had recently acquired

The interface I used was a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 (3rd Gen). To get an acceptable recording level with the Fathead, I had to almost max out the gain on the 2i2, especially when singing softly. The CL- 1 does exactly what it says on the tin, and the audio recording is CLEAN! Two different takes of the same song can be seen in the photo attached to the post. Sung at a similar volume and from a similar distance. The interface's gain was set to 12 o'clock for both takes. The difference in wave forms can be seen. The CL- 1 did not alter the mic's sound coloration, but it did enhance the mic's inherent warmth, which I appreciate. br>br>The pop filter isn't anything special, but the gooseneck is noticeably stiffer than my previous one, which is a plus. br>br>The microphone cables included in this package are of good quality. They're what I used to test the ribbon mic directly through the interface and on both ends of the Cloudlifter. There was no hum or other background noise on either track - This is a problem I've had with other cables in the past, especially since I'm recording at home in a 1950s house. br>br>I would not hesitate to recommend the Cloudlifter to anyone looking to increase the amount of ribbon they use. Solid product, well-made, and performs exactly as advertised.

If you've ever heard of the RE-, you'll know what I'm talking about. 20 You're aware that it's been the radio standard "forever" as a dynamic microphone. It excels at vocals and performs admirably across a wide range of other media. By including the CL- 1 gives you that extra boost you'll need to get the levels you'll need for great recordings. professional audio.
